Farm population is down, ac- cording to Mr. Montgomer=y, I -Ie said, "We lost 973 farmers in ten years, and I expect that the next census wilt show we have lost an- other 400 or 500 farmers in this county," He mentioned Murray Gaunt's winning of the Queen's Guineas last week, and mentioned that among 37 teams from all On- tario, Huron placed five teams in the top ten, in Guelph competi- tion, and at the Royal, 11 calves from Huron were still in the run- ning. when the judging had been narrowed down to the top group. Council approved grant of $500 to the Huron 4-11 Club Leaders' Association. Dr. J. A. Addison and George Reid were re -appointed county representatives on the board of the Clinton District Collegiate In- stitute. Council approved the drawing up of a new by-law for a new approved pension plan for the county employees, It is expected that it will receive final action in January, Council decided to scrap pres- ent photographic equipment in the registry office and install micro- film, which they felt would be more economical in the new office, Reeve H.
