The management expect that this
problem is now solved with the
admission of the club into the

arena. Teams such as Woodstock

A new organization has taken

working men expect that this
year's team will give this area
some of the best hockey that it

Cancer Society
Plans Public
Meeting, Nov. 3
The local branch of the Canad-
ian Cancer Society is holding a
public meeting in the agricultural
office beard room on Tuesday
evening, November 8, when Dr.
J, A. Addison has been invited to
speak on the subject of cancer
and films on that topic will be
shown.
It is considered extremely im-
portant by those at work with the
Society that education of the pub-
lic and early detection of cancer
symptoms should be undertaken
at the local level, where people
know each other and are able to
advise and direct the committees.
The Perth -Huron Unit, of which
Clinton branch is a part, now
owns a film projector, which will
be kept in Clinton, available for
the showing of the Cancer educa-
tional films to groups in this area.
Last night an instruction evening
was conducted in the Clinton
town hall, when three machines
were in use by volunteers coming
from Goderich and Exeter branch-
es as well as from Clinton to )earn
how to operate them.
The Unit library now has seven
films' which can be shown, and
they intend adding more as time
and money permits, These films
and the projector will be available
to any group, along with a pro-
jectionist to show them. Tele-
phone Ross Merrill or Benson Sut-
ter for details.
A]1 those who are interested in
helping with the work are asked
to attend this open, public meet-
ing and find out what their share
in the job might be. Represent-
atives of the Society are expected
from the Waterloo, Oxford and
Bruce Units,
The second annual Unit Confer-
ence will be held in Goderich the
following Saturday and delegates
from the Clinton branch will be
asked to attend. The conference
was found last year to be quite
helpful, and an even more enjoy-
able agenda has been planned his
time.
