annual convention of the North
Huron Council of Christian •Educa-
tion being held in Knox Presby-
terian Church, Auburn, next: Wed-
nesday afternoon, October 12.

This is an interdenominational
meeting to which Sundays, School
workers o'f all churches are urged
to bring their problems for dis-
cussion. Afternoon sessions begin
at .1.45, with supper served at six
o'clock and an evening session at
7,30 p.m.
The special speaker for the con-
vention is Rev. Allan Duffield.
Lambeth, who is a specialist in
the field of Christian Education.
Theme is "Conununicating, the
Gospel: Operation How To,"
Plans for the meeting were laid
at a meeting of the executive
heldat the home of Earl Hamil-
ton, Wingham. Margaret Sr, Bee-
croft, Belgrave, is secretary of the
Council.
During the installation, Mrs.
Mary Nediger sang a solo. Mrs.
Amine Glew presented Mrs, Mary
Sutter with a gift. Mrs. Ethel
McPherson, Junior Past Noble
Grand, Was presented with. a
jewel by. Mrs. Mary Sutter.
An invitation has been accepted
from the London District Lodges
to exemplify the degree on the
evening of October 29.

ing planned for the Monday night
following the opening of the new
addition. Furnishings and neces-
sities for the new part of the
church were discussed at length
and satisfactory decisions made.
A banquet will be served for the
LOL, Murphy Lodge No. 710 early

the Catholic. Women's League held
a joint meeting in St. Joseph's
Parish Hall on Monday evening.
Mrs, Wilfred Monaghan presided.

McConnell, Seaforth, past •provin-
Bial president of the CWL. Mrs.
McConnell gave a very interest-
ing description of her visits to the
sub -divisions during her presiden-
cy Including those in. Northern
Ontario, She stressed the im-
por, tance of unity among the sub -
di isions of the CWL.
Mrs. Hallaban, president of the
Blyth sub -division, thanked the
speaker and presented her with a
gift. Several selections were sung
by Miss Lucy Levy and Mrs. Vlake
accompanied by Miss Jean Bren-
ner. Mrs. A. Sharp won the my-
stery prize.
Plans for the fall bazaar on
Saturday, November 12 were com-
pleted. Tickets are being sold on
a Christmas cake baked by Mrs.
Eldon O'Brien with the draw to
take place at the bazaar.

The Ontario Street Girls' Club
will meet on. Thursday night, 'Oc-
tober 15 at the home of Miss. Em-

wedding anniversary of Mr. and

Thursday after spending the past
twp weeks visiting with the form-
er's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Clif-
ford Lobb at their sunnier home

Dr. 3. Maurice Kingston, Seat-
tle, Wash., visited on Tuesday
with Mr. and Mrs. W.J. Plumsteel
(Mrs. Kingston's parents). Dr.
Kingston had been called to Lon-
don owing to the serious illness
of his mother, Mrs, H. R. King-

The roll call was "My Favorite
Fall Flower", and it was respond-
ed to by 14 members
The treasurer's report showed a
balance of $23.76 on hand. The
remainder of the afternoon was
spent in quilting.
The next meeting will be at the
home of Mrs. H. McCartney, and
the roll call is to be "cooking tips".
