last Sunday was the setting when
Mr. and Mrs. Mathew England,
Hensall, marked their diamond
Wedding anniversary. Following
the reception a family dinner was
held attended by 40.
Both in their eighties, they
have lived in Hensell for the past
15 years, and prior to that resided
ii Crediton and Cranbrook.
Mr. and Mrs. England enjoy
fairly good health, although four
years ago Mrs. England fractured
her hip in a fall at her home and
now uses a _crutch to get around.
Mr. England is very active for his
years.
Their family consists of. two
sons, Lloyd, Creditom Melville,
St. Thomas; two daughters, Mrs.'
Lorne (Laura) Finkbeiner and
Mrs, William Roeszler, Crediton;
13 grandchildren, and 13 great-
grandchildren.

Edgar Hoffman of the Goshe
Line, south of Zurich, was honor
ed at a reception in the town hall,
Zurich, prior to leaving for Brock-
ville where he will enter the
Monastry as a Redeinptorest Bro-
ther. Mr. Hoffman was presented
with a purse of money by the par-
ishioners of that parish. A social
hour was enjoyed and luncheon

the United Church last Sunday -

of teachers. Ted Norminton pre-
sented the story. "The story of
the Good Samaritan" was given
by three boys and a quartette
composed by Mary Anh VanHorne,
Dianne and Mary Ann Ratmle,
and Gwen Spencer sang "Jesus
is a friend you need". Mr. S. Ren-
nie directed the choir and Miss
Greta Lammie presided at the
organ consol.
