The Womans' Association and
Woman's Missionary Society held
a combined meeting in the church
basement on Thursday afternoon.
In the absence of Mrs. J. Lyon,
president of the WA, Mrs, William
Manning conducted the meeting.
Mrs. Manning read the theme
and Mrs. Wood read the•Seripture,
Mrs. Josing.favored with an in-
strumental.
Mrs, T. J. White presided for
the WMS and a missionary pro-
gram followed, Jayne McCool sang
a Solo.,A. letter of thankswasread
from Miss Beata Burns in Korea,
for" parcels she had' received. The
hostesses Mrs. Ted Bunking, Mrs.
Charles Scanlon, Mrs. T. Airdrie,
Mrs. L. Saundercock served lunch.
Will :Entertain
The members of the WMS are
entertaining the members of the
Baby Band and Mission Band in
the church basement on Wednes-
day afternoon, August 31. A good
programme; is being prepared and
pictures will be shown' for the
children, Lunch will be served.
Kenneth Wood returned to
Guelph on Monday;' entering his
fourth year in agricultural engin-
eering at the OAC.

Patrons of London
Fair, Promised
A Great Show
Western Fair,. London, Septem-
ber 12 to 17, will be -a• mecca for
all Western Ontario families this
year. Visitors 'are promised - the
most outstanding show in history,
from prize livestock housed in the
most up-to-date livestock pavilion
in Canada, to the greatest six-day
grandstand performance Western
has ever offered its patrons.
An added feature for the first
four evening grandstand perform-
ances, Monday to Thursday inclus-
ive, will be Priscilla Wright, Can-
ada's 14 -year-old singing sensa-
tion, who will be, directed: by her
father, Don 'Wright, Londofl,
founder and director of the Don
Wright chorus of international
radio 'fame. ^
Nine George A, Hamid and Son
all-star acts will: be headed by a
brand new Grandstand Follies,
presenting '"Stairway to the
Stars", a brilliantly costumed 'ex-
travaganza with a line of lovely
talented dancers.
The famous J. E. Ranch _Rodeo
will provide thrilling grandstand.

BRUSSELS VILLAGE IS NOW
RESURFACING 'MAIN STREET
The main street of Brussels is
getting a much-needed resurfac-,
ing. The Huron County road con-
struction gang is doing the work.
