The fifth and sixth were his worst innings but he rallied to get out of trouble. Johnny Fisher of RCAF Station Clinton for the purpose of holding dances every Friday night from now until the end of the summer season, for $20 per night, was ok'd after some discussion. Two of the councillors felt it was unfair to allow the dances since they .would compete with the Legion dances, but this objection was withdrawn when someone mentioned that attend- ance at the Legion dances had fallen off, and they had been can- celled until fall. Coun. George Beattie stated that this was little enough to do to co-operate with the RCAF, and he suggested that it would be good policy to rent the hall to the Fisher Rhythmaires for the lower, resident fee. However, this sug- gestion gained no support, Plans are that calcium will go on the streets by the end of this week, and holes will be patched with blacktop. , , Building permits were passed to Douglas Rozell, $300, garage; A.
