Following up an 18-1 win on
their home diamond Exeter hand-
ed the Clinton Juniors another
severe drubbing, 13-4, here on Fri-
day night. Held to three runs for

Teams Half -Way
Through Schedule
As the teams of the Huron-
Perth baseball league hit 'the
half -way point of their -schedule
Exeter has a comfortable four
point lead over their nearest riv-
al. The team from the southern
town, have hit their stride and are
knocking over their opposition
with little trouble. Mitchell, who
took an early lead have faltered
during the past two weeks and
have dropped tq second. Zurich
after a slow start have added a
few players and have moved into
a tie for third spot with Dash-
wood. Auburn has a two point
edge over Clinton Juniors who are
holding down the cellar.'
Following is the standing:

town team broke out in the fifth
for three runs. They followed in
the sixth with seven more. `
The fifth,' started 13111 McDon-
ald's downfall. His control de-
serted him and he walked four
batters, allowed one hit and three
runs were chased across the plate.
In the sixth ' McDonald failed to
retire a batter, Wells singled,
Holtzman walked, Meharg and
Loader both singled. Meharg's
hit got' away from Bob Garon in
left field'and before he could run
it -down' three men he'd scored.
After'"Lgader's single Bob Garon
took over the mound duties, He
was knicked for two hits, a walk
and four runs before the third
out was made.
Clinton scored one run in the
second and three in the fifth in
one of the wildest displays of ball
handling seen here in years. Bob
McDonald and Bill McDonald
were on first and second when
Bob Garon hit a savage drive back
to the pitcher. Russell knocked
the ball down but in an attempt
to get Bill McDonald at second
threw the ball into centre field.
Before the ball had, been retrieved
both McDonald's were across the,
plate and Garon was on his way
to third, Loader's relay to third
for the', attempted putout was
high and Garon rambled all the
way home.
One highlight of the game from
a Clinton standpoint was Gerry
Tebbutt. He returned to form by
banging out 'a double and a single
and fielded his centre field posit-
ion perfectly. Saxton, the Exeter
catcher, looked very sharp. His
strong, accurate throwing arm
kept all baserunners on their toes
at all times.
