WMS Meets
The Woman's Missionary Soc-
iety of Goshen United Church met
at the .home oi Mrs. Roy McBride:
The song "O Spirit of the Living
God," was followed with prayer by
the president, Mrs, John "Arm-
strong.' Mrs, Anson McKinley
read the scripture. The program.
in the Missionary Monthly was
followed.
Miss Edith Love and Mrs, Anson
McKinley sang a duet accompanied
by,Mrs, Melvin Elliott. The min-
utes were read and there were 21
members and two visitors present,
Mrs. Elgin McKinley gave the
birthday fund report. .6 special
offering was given for the cancer
fund.
It was decided to entertain the
Baby Band on the third Thursday
in Jul,', : on the church lawn as
was successfuly done last year.
The Study Book chapter on Ang-
ola was taken by Mrs. Melvin El-
liott.

Mission Band
The Goshen Mission Band met
on the Church lawn 'on Sunday
morning for the program in the
charge of Gwen McBride. The
president, • Marlene McClinchey
read Psalm 121 which was follow-
ed with prayer by Donna Hayter,
A poem "Little Thoughts" was
read by Jack . Armstrong, The
minutes of the April meeting were
read by Merle Armstrong, follow-
ed with the May minutes by Gail
McBride. ..
The roll call was answered by
"a chore I don't like doing."
There were 24 present. The of-
fertory prayer was given by Dian-
ne Peck. Marlene Keyes read a
poem. "The. Story of Gingerbread
Ann,"
The story from the Study Book
was told by Merle, Armstrong.
The worship ended with prayer by
Gwen McBride. A short game of
"I spy" was enjoyed, The July
program is to be in the charge
of Merle Armstrong and the story
by Donna Hayter.

A community picnic under the
auspices of St. James' Church,
Middleton, is to be held at Stew-
art Middleton's farm pond, . on
Thursday, June 30. Bring picnic
lunch,. dishes and cutlery. Follow-
ing dinner at 12,30 there will be
a programme of sports, including
boat rides. and sport events for
young and old. Everybody wel-
come.

Carmel Presbyterian Church
Women's . Missionary Society held
the annual birthday party last
Thursday and entertained societies
from Seaforth, St. Paul's Anglican
and United Church Hensall "and
Arnold' Circle of their church.
Eighty members and guests were
welcomed by the president Mrs,
Sam Dougall.
Lovely summer blooms formed
attractive decorations for the
church; Mrs, W, J. Rogers was
guest speaker. Vocal solos given
by Mrs. E. Butt, Seaforth, and
Mrs,. John• W. Bonthron, Hensel',
and a piano solo by Mrs. Laird
Nickle, were much enjoyed;'
Ladies' Aid
Mrs. Malcolm Dougall was the
hostess at her home for Carmel
Presbyterian Church, Hensall Lad-
ies Aid, on June 13, Mrs. A. Orr's
group 'took the devotional part of
the meeting. Mrs., Sam Dougall
read the scripture lesson, Miss
Hannah Murray gave a reading;
Mrs. W. Brdwn a poem. 1VIrs, W.
R. Bell led the group in prayer.
Miss Carol Brown, known for
her musical achievements, delight-
ed the group with a piano solo,
Mrs: L. Baynham expressed her
appreciation to all members of the
church who has assisted with the
booth at the\Spring Fair.
Mrs. W, R. Bell treasurer, gave
a report of finances for the year,
up to the present time. A cong-
regational picnic sponsored -by the
group will be held in Jowett's
Grove, Bayfield on July 13. Rev
D. McDonald closed the meeting
with prayer and an enjoyable soc-
ial hour followed.
