Steepe and the financial • report was given by .the treasurer, Miss L. Walkinshaw. Mrs. G. Manning conducted the program. The Scripture lesson • from Numbers 13 was read by Miss a McRoberts with a com- mentary emphasizing the beauty of nature in this fair land, Mrs. •- Vincent played a piano solo "jesus Is My Joy". Miss M. A. Stone • reviewed interesting world events. Mrs. L. Ball introduced the speaker, Miss Luella Johnston, who took for her topic, "Influ- ence". She dealt with this topic • from many angles including "Our influence upon others and their's upon us," • Mrs...Manning thanked all who had taken part in the program. A hymn followed by the Mizpah benediction closed the meeting. The Clinton Institute visited his museum and saw many of he historical things therein. A plaque may be seen that has been placed there in memory of those who went from the County of Wentworth and Hamilton to the war. This has been inscribed by the Women's Wentworth Histor- icial Society, October 16, 1920. The bus tour went past Mc- Master University, Nora Francis Henderson Hospital on Hamilton Mountain, the Sunken Garden, the Royal Botanical Gardens. Mrs. Shepherd presided. A short worship service and a hyran opened the meeting after which the various secretaries gave their reports. The supply secretary gave- an account of the recent bale sent to Korea (200 lbs, of good used cloth- ing). Mrs. Wilson reminded the ladies of the open meeting of the Mission Band June 27, to which they are all invited. It was de- cided to treat the Mission Band members at their last meeting, July and August meetings will be dispensed with. The Auxiliary is invited to join with Seaforth Northside WMS on June 28, at 8 p.m., to hear a mis- sionary from Korea. The roll call was answered by a "Thought on Temperance." • The study period was conducted by Mrs. Norman Holland. Mrs. Potter read the scripture. Mrs. Addison read a verse on "Prayer" followed by prayer by Mrs. McGill. A good -article on "Juvenile De- liquency" was read by Mrs. Nel- son -(This was prepared by Mrs. Trewartha). Mrs. Epps read a story "The Church of the Lighted Lamps." Mrs. Holland gave a short anal- ysis of the highlights of the Study Book "The Church in India" by R. M. Bennett. Miss Margaret Holland sang a solo and told the ladies of summer camp work. 0 Among the early pioneer settlers of Goderich were James and Sarah Harker Harrison who came to Canada from Yorkshire, England and settled in Goderich in 1836, later taking up residence in Gode- rich Township. Their descendants held their 20th annual reunion picnic at the Sea - forth Lions Park on Saturday, June 11. There were 87 present, a slight drop in attendance due to a cold and wet day. Everyone enjoyed dinner before the races.ll There was only a warm-up ba game due to rain, so, an early picnic supper was enjoyed by all. The following were elected to office for 1956: President, W.
