Mrs. Margaret Levy
Mrs.Margaret ' J. Levy passed
away suddenly at her, home on
June 1, The deceased had just
celebrated her 91st, birthday; on
April 11,
She was born on the eighth
concession of Hullett Township,
the daughter of Richard Taylor
and Mary Walsh. . She married
JanieS Levy of Colborne Township
who predeceased her in October,
1954. In early • married life; she
settled in Clinton where, she has
resided or the past 62 years.
There ,,were seven in their fam-
ily, four of which survive: Mrs.
Charles (Martha) Mayhew, Sar-
nia; Norman, Toronto; Jack, De-
troit;; Lucy, at home; also four
grandchildren and seven great
grandchildren.
She was a member of the Cath-
olic Women's League and the Al-
tar Society of St. Joseph's Roman
Catholic Church, Clinton.
Requiem High Mass was sung,
by Rev, J. W. P, Graham on Sat-
urday, June 4, at nine o'clock in
the morning, and burial was in
the Roman Catholic Cemetery,
Hullett Township.
Pall -bearers - were Lawrence`
Denomme, Joseph Becker, Theo
Flynn, Thomas Flynn, ,Fred Le -
Beau and Arnold Dale.'

Mr, and Mrs. W. E. Morrell,
Toronto, visited the former's par-
ents, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Morrell
on Sunday.

this week in Richmond. Hill with
her son-in-law and daughter, Mr..

ed with Mr. and Mrs, M. T. Corless
on. Sunday.
John C. Snell, Brandon, Man:,
attended the Snell Reunion in Lon-
desboro on Saturday, June 11. At
present he is visiting friends and
relatives in the community.
Mr, and Ws. Ben Burn, Tillson-
burg Mr. and Mrs. William Step'7i
erison, Cathcart, were guests at the
McKnight-Fingland nuptials on
Saturday, and afterwards yisited
with. Mr, and "Mrs, M. T. Corless,
Mr. and Mrs. 'Charles Wise, Kirk
Street, Clinton;'Mr. and Mrs, Ray
Wise and Patricia, Goderich Town-
ship, visited in Toronto on Sunday
with Mr, and Mrs, Howard Clark
and other relatives.
Among those .from Clinton who
are in Toronto this week attending
the various sessions of the Grand
Lodge of Ontario of the Independ-
ent Order. of Odd Fellows include
Mrs, Carman McPherson, Mr. and
Mrs. Benson Sutter, Mrs. Mabel
Nickerson, and Mr. and Mrs. Bar-
rett Taylor.

• Mrs. Eileen Gliddon Brown,
A.R.C.T,, Detroit Mich., and for-
merly of Ixolmesville, presented a
piano concert on Friday, May .27
at the Detroit Conservatory of
Music, Numbers played were by
Scarlotti, Beethoven, Chopin,
Rachmaninoff, Debussy; Leeuona,
and the Concerto in G minor by
Mendelssohn, the second piano ac-
companiment :being played by J.
Bertram Bell, director of the Con-
servatory.
Mrs. Brown is the former Eileen
Glidden, daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
D. E. G1ith3on, Holmesville. She
is a graduate of the Royal Con-
servatory of Music, Toronto and
will graduate from the Detroit
Conservatory of Music in June.
Since moving to Detroit, Eileen
has been studying with J. Bertram
Bell and Marguerite Dourine, and
previously studied with Cora B.
Ahrens, Stratford, and Mrs. E.
Wendorf,, Clinton.
Mrs. Brown is well known in
this district as she was formerly

A profusion of pink peonies and.
blue delphiniums in tall standards
set the scene at Wesley -Willis
United Church, Clinton, on Sat-
urday afternoon, June 11, when
Catherine Elizabeth Fingland, •ex-
changed wedding vows with Dr.
Claude ‚Kenneth 1VIcKnight, Len -
The Rev, Hugh C. Wilson, Clin-
ton, assisted by. Rev. Dr. William
Fingland, Niagara Falls, uncle of
the bride, officiated at the cere-
mony uniting ` in marriage the
daughter of Judge and Mrs. Frank
Fingland, Clinton and the son of
Mi. and Mrs. Calude McKnight,
Oakhill Drive, Brantford.
Preceded by her attendants, the
bride entered the church with her
father, who gave her in marriage.
She wore a gown of camelia white
bridal satin and nylon net misted
with Chantilly lace. The tightly
molded bodice, with its snugly -
fitted waist, was trimmed with
scalloped lace and featured a port-
rait neckline and scalloped sleeves.
The full skirt was of nylon net
with lace tier applique. A half -hat
with pearl and lace applique held
her cathedral -length veil of French
illusion with lace applique, and she
carried a cascade arrangement of
white Killarney roses with steph-
anotis.
Costumed identically in gowns of
heavenly blue nylon tulle and net
over taffeta, the attendants were
Mrs. Glen Wise, Clinton, as mat-
ron of honor, Miss Agnes Wright,
Brantford and Dr. 'Lisbeth S.loman,
Montreal, as bridesmaids.
Their gowns were styled with
snugly -fitted strapless bodices top-
ped with boleros and the bouffant
nylon tulle skirts were appliqued
with bands of tulle ruching. Their
headddresses were heavenly blue
net circles of flowers and they
carried bouquets of pink Briar-
cliffe roses.
Dr. John Shaver, Brantford, was
groomsman, and the ushers were
Dr. William Munn, Seaforth and
Allan Morrison, Brantford.
Mrs. M. R. Rennie played the
wedding music and ., accompanied
Mrs. Alec Patterson, Toronto, who
sang "The Lord's Prayer" and
"Through the Years."
The residence of the bride's par-
ents was the scene of a reception
which followed the ceremony. Re-
ceiving her guests, Mrs. Fingland
wore a waltz -length dress of pale

NANCY ANNE STEWART
daughter of Mr. and Mrs, Har-
vey Adam Stewart, formerly
of concession 4, Stanley Town-
ship, recently won the Ann
Adamson scholarship in Psych-
ology, valued at $300. She is
in her third year, Honour
Psychology, and Economics at
Queen's University, Kingston.
Miss Stewart is a grand-
daughter of the late Fenwick
Stewart and Mrs, Stewart
(nee Alice Rathwell) and is a
niece of Mr. and Mrs, Harvey
MCBrien, Clinton)
grey chiffon with matching lace
overdress. Her pale pink hat of
Swiss braid was trimmed with
pink lilacs. Her accessories were
pink and she carried a small pink
bag showered with pink and pur-
ple sweet peas.
For her son's wedding Mrs. Mc-
Knight chose a waltz -length dress
of candlewood silk chiffon appliqu-
ed with lace and pearls, and a
French petal champagne colored
hat. Her accessories were of
champagne shade and she wore, a
shoulder corsage of Johanna Hill
roses.
For travelling the bride changed
to a three-piece pink suit, with
hat of pink silk braid, white ac-
cessories and a corsage of pink
and white sweet peas, complement-
ing the ensemble.
On their return from a motor
trip to Quebec Dr. and Mrs. Mc-
Knight will reside in London.
The bride is a graduate of Alma
College and a 1955 graduate of the
University of Western Ontario
The groom graduated this month
from Medical School of the Uni-
versity of Western Ontario.

Sometime during the last week-
end, the Legion Memorial Hall on
Kirk Street was entered by some-
one who broke a window to gain
access. Several small packages

Honors Bride -elect
Mrs. A. Habkirk and Mrs. Marg-
uerite Jenkins, were hostesses at
a surprise shower for Miss' Shirley
Proctor, bride -elect of this month,^
held. 'Tuesday evening, June 7, at
the home. of Mrs, Herb Jenkins,
Seated in a chair beautifully dee-
orated in pink and white stream-
ers, the guest of honour received
numerous lovely gifts from the 40
friends and neighbours present.
Daring the evening, the bride-to-be
was . presented with a , humorous
bride's book. Miss Proctor thank-
ed her friends in a few well-chosen
words.
