McRae As 1955
President of Club
Kenneth B. IVIcItae stepped up
to president of Clintoh Lions Club
as the reselt of a nomination and
election at the last two meetings
of the club. President-elect Me -
Rae takes office in September. He
will succeed Royce Macaulay,

Parsons Rests Bill McDonald In
Pitching Duel; Allows Only 1 Hit
Zurich scored two runs in the le
first inning to defeat Clinton
Juniors 2-1 in a Huron -Perth base-
ball game in Zurich on Tuesday
evening, Parsons., on the hill for
the Lurnberkings, was too hot for
the Clinton nine holding then i to
one lone hit to out -hurl Bill Mc-
Donald in the close contest.
Bell was the Zurich hero belting
out a double with the bases loaded
to give the home tearn their two
runs. Bob McDonald drove in the
Clinton run with a single that
scored Gerry Tebbutt from. second.
It was Bill Mcbonald's wildness
in the first inning that cost the
Juniors the game. The Clinton
pitcher walked three of the first
five men to face him before Bell
delivered his two run smash, after
that he was never in serious troub-
Plan For Frolic
Chairmen and ,-committees to
look after the games, bingo, dance
and draw at the street frolic on
Wednesday, June 15 were an-
nounced. Frank Pennebakeris
general chairman of the frolic.
Tickets on the six big draw prizes
are available from all Lions and
many business places on main
street.
Included in the $654.50 worth of
prizes are a stainless steel wash-
ing machine, camera and projector
for colored slides, lazy -boy chair,
58 -piece set of silverware, a five
piece chrome breakfast suite and
a girl's or boy's .bicycle. Most of
the prizes at the street frolic and
bingo are merchandise.
The Lions had a local speaker
at this meeting—Jabez E. Rands,
superintendent of Clinton Public
Utilities Commission.
H. E. Hartley is in Hamilton
this week attending a business in-
surance course sponsored by the
Canada Life Assurance Company,
Toronto.
