A police crack -down of illegal
parking has been _approved by
Wingham council. Police Chief
Bert Platt was instructed to hand
parking -tickets to motorists for
overtime parking and double-
parking offenses on main street.

where she will visit her and and

Mr., and Mrs. Stanley Neale and
family, Glencoe, spent the holiday
with Mrs. Stackhouse. Mrs. Neale
and Mrs. Mac Wilson attended
the funeral of their cousin, Dr. Roy
Stackhouse, Ridgeway, on Sunday.
Sgt. Peter Cooper, McDonald,
Man., is spending a few days with
his wife and family. Mrs. Cooper
will leave with him in a few days
to reside in McDonald. The Coop-
ers will be missed in Brucefield as
they were fine citizens.

Driver Fined
$150 For Sale
In magistrate's court on 1VIay
1.2, Donald Patterson, taxi oper-
ator in Goderich, was fined $50
and costs on a charge of selling
intoxicating liquor to airmen,
Crown Attorney Glenn Hays,
Q.C., told the court Patterson had
whisky, which he had obtained
from some other source, after
picking up LAC Robert G. Mc-
Nabb and LAC Norman E. Poll-
jola, both of RCAF Station Clinton
Patterson's actions were observ-
ed by Goderich police who took
liquor off the airmen as they ]eft
the cab.

The' meeting of the Londesboro
W.I. will be held on Thursday,
June 2, at two o'clock. The ex-
ecutive will have charge of the

' The May meeting of the Lon-
desboro Woman's Association was
held on Thursday afternoon in
the church. The president, Mrs.
J. Lyon, opened the meeting with
the worship service.
An invitation was accepted to
attend a bazaar and tea to be held
'at Constance on June 14. A bus-
iness discussion was held on form-
ing the W.A. into groups and a
committee of Mrs. Townsend, Mrs.
Durnin, Mrs. George Wright and
Mrs. 1;. Wood, were appointed to
arrange groups if advisable.
Mrs. Wright, -Mrs. Robert Fair -
service and Mrs, Clarke were nam-
ed a committee to make plans on
redecorating the church. Mrs.
Robert Townsend and Mrs. Lloyd
Pipe gave reports on the W.A.
Presbytery held in Exeter.
Minor Accident,
A minor accident occurred yest-
erday at noon, when John Innes,
72 -year-old employee at Lorne
Brown Motors Limited, proceeded
from a parked position on the
north shoulder of Ontario Street
into the path of a truck driven by
Robert Irwin, RR 2, Seaforth.
Damage to both vehicles was esti-
mated at about $100.
