For June B
The May meeting of the Wo-
men's Association', of St. Andrew's
Presbyterian Church was held at.
the home of Mrs, G. Roberton on
Tuesday, May 3, Mrs. Farquhar
presided and conducted the de-
votional exercises. The Scripture
reading was given by Mrs. Mc-
Taggart, and prayer was offered
by Mrs. Ball At this time a
silence was observed in tribute to
the memory of the late Dr, J. ,W.
Shaw.
During the business period the
secretary and the treasurer sub-
mitted their reports and it was
decided to give the usual contribu-
tion to the May Thankoffering.
Plans' were completed for the ba-
zaar which will be held Saturday,
June 4. Afternoon tea will be
served, and the booths will include
homemade baking, aprons, sugar
and spice, and plants.
After, the regular meeting the
members enjoyed a program and
a social hour. Miss Sylvie Corrie
contributed two beautiful' vocal
numbers" and Miss Evelyn Hall
gave an interesting review of "An
Invitation to Tea" by Monica
Lang. This talk was very much
enjoyed; Mrs. McEwen voiced the
appreciation of the society in ex-
tending a vote of thanks to the
guests of the evening.

Men's Clubs of Ontario Street
United Church and St. Andrew's
Presbyterian Church, in the church
hall of the Wesley -Willis Church.
Charles Nelson, president, was in
charge of the meeting, and Benson
Suter presided at the piano.
Following a rousing hymn sing,
Rev. H. C. Wilson led in prayer,
and the.business period was con-
ducted by the president.
Beverley Boyes and Miss Jane
Batkin delighted the large group
present by playing a piano duet,
Beverley responding to an encore
by playing a piano solo. Three men
from Turner's - Gordon Johns,
Bert Pepper and Jim Nott, played
several selections on harmonicas
and guitar.
The speaker of the evening, in-
troduced by Royce Macaulay, was
Dr. James Fraser, medical officer
at RCAF Station Clinton, and his
subject was Health. In a very
interesting manner he broke down
the word Health to mean -habits,
exercise, appetite, leisure, temper
ance and happiness, and showed
how these can all work together
to make a well-balanced life.
Howard Lochhead expressed the
appreciation of all present to Dr.
Fraser and the others taking part
in the meeting. Rev. D. J. Lane
pronounced the benediction. Re-
freshments 'were served by the
host club, under the convenership
of Wesley Holland.
