Entertains
Bayfield Group
On, Wednesday evening, April 27,
the members of Trinity Club, Bay-
field .were the guests of ,5t, Paul's
Friendship Club' at the ParishHall,
Clinton: Progressive court whist
was played and Mrs. Ray Gibbon
won first prize, while Mrs. Roy
Fitzsimons, Bayfield, won the
consolation,
Entertainment was in charge of
Mrs, Elliott Bartliff. Hostesses
were Mrs. A. Leyburne, Mrs. G.
Herman, Mrs. J. Leversage and
Miss Mary Hudie.
A special lunch was served by
the hostesses, Mrs, Ross Middle-
ton, president of the Bayfield Club;
expressed thanks for the enjoyable
afternoon, , and Mrs. Gibbon, in
replying extendedaninvitation for
them also to attend the Blossom

Hospital Auxiliary Pays Tribute
To The Late Dr. J. W. Shaw
Tribute was paid to the. late
Dr. John W. Shaw, Clinton, who
died earlier this, week, by members
of the Clinton Hospital Auxiliary
at their regular meeting Monday
afternoon, The late doctor's work
was not confined to bis practice
alone. Among his many commuir,
it:y interests, was a sincere interest
in the Hospital Auxiliary, r as well
as in the hospital itself. •

told of the final plans for the tea
being held in conjunction with the
official opening of the new 20 -bed
nurses' residence on May 11 at
2.00 p.m.
Mrs. Ball told the members that
the architect,` for the residence,
had complimented the auxiliary on
its choice of purchases for the new
home, (The auxiliary furnished
the recreation room as well as all
the drapes,' bedspreads and rugs
throughout the home).

Members To Meet

Competition
Achievement Day for the South.
Huron 4-H Homemaking Clubs is
planned for Saturday, May 14 in
Seaforth District High School. In
this Dayclubs from Dungannon,
Seaforth, Elimville, Londesboro,
Blyth, ,:Hurondale, Kippen, Clinton
and Auburn will . take part and
about 130 girls are expected to
attend.
Exhibits and demonstrations of
the work of the past year on the
topic "The Magic Milk Bottle"
will be " presented •by each club,
Record books will be judged; and
certificates awarded.
Choiceof projects for next year
will be made from this list: Sleep -
in Garments, Supper Club, Cereal
Shelf, What shall I Wear?, Clothes
Purchase`of four new chairs for
patients' rooms was authorized as
well • as other minor repairs to
hospital furniture. ' •
Tag Day will be held on May 14
with Mrs. George F. Elliott, as

the secretary's report was given
