Colts baseball team is the new
coach for this year's team. He.
was chosen at the organizational
meeting of the club Tuesday night
There were only 11 baseball-
minded citizens at the meeting and
out of this group the 1955 exec-
utive was formed. They include:
president Laurie' Colquhoun; sec-
retary, Hairy McEwen; treasurer,
John Livermote; business manag-
er, C. J. Livermore; committee,
John A. • nstett; George Levis,
Caryl Draper

sage, ''The Seamless Robe' was
presented on Sunday evening in
Wesley -Willis United Church by
members of the Young People's
Union, , •:
The following young people took
part: Misses Darlene < Stanley,
Eleanor' Yeo, Mary Helen Yeo, Iva
Glazier and p'ranees McCullough;
Murray: Stanley, Gordon. Tebbutt,
Kenneth. Currie, Bert Clifford and
Douglas Norman.
The property committee consist-
ed of Donald Cornish and Kelvin
Jervis. The directors were Miss,
Margaret Holland, Kenneth Carter,
and H. G. Manning. Appropriate
solos, were sung in brief intermis-
sions by Miss Margaret Holland.

The organizational meetings of
five local 4-H Clubs were held in
Clinton District Collegiate Insti-
tute last Friday.
Harold Baker, -assistant agricul-'
aural representative, listed the
duties of the officers, and spoke
on "parliamentary procedure, Mem-
bers ordered 4-H Club material,
such as sweaters, , pins, and gate -
signs. Officers for the coining

Bottle Drive
The coat hanger and pop, bottle
drive on :Saturday; was. very suc-
cessful, about 25 Cubs and 15
Scouts taking part. Every house
in town had been canvassed by
noon. Five vehicleswere used,
including; trucks donated for the
morning by Lorne Brown and Joe
Murphy, and the: private, cars of
'T. Darling; Cub'mgster; Maurice
Bateman and K. C, Cooke.
Other leaders out to help were
Art Tyndall and Ts G. Scribbins.
Bronze'Course - '
The five boys who recently ent-
ered the bronze arrowhead course
in Goderich were successful. They,
were Barry MacLaren, Ken Van.
Riesen, Ken Enpelstad, Billy Trick

Hostess Badges
The Clinton Girl Guides were
entertained 'on Tuesday night by
the Trillium Patrol, who under the
leadership of Pat Irwin and her
second, Sherry Cochrane were try-
ing for their hostess badge.
Contests and games were fol-
lowed by a dainty lunch served by
the patrol members from a tea
table decorated in the patrol's
colours of green and white in
which the trillium motif was used.
Joan Sharp well the grand prize
for having a birthday closest to
the day of the party. Quiz prizes
went to Lorene Caldwell and Clara
Williamson. The best improvised
rhythm band was made up of
Mary Jean Colquhoun, Beverley
Beattie, Christine Bridle, Sally
Deeves and Nancy MacDonald.
Special guests included Mrs, L.
G. Winter and Miss Grace Dun-
stan. Each patrol was permitted
to invite two guests,
The other members of the Tril-
lium Patrol are Ann Trott, Linda
Jervis, Noreen Gamow, Pat But-
ler and Beth Curb/tore.
Coolie Day
Date for, the Guide Cookie Day
has been set for Saturday, June
4. During the . month of May,
Guides and Brownies will call at
homes taking orders for cookies.
Plant Trees
It has been decided that the
Guides will take part in the tree
planting project at the Scout and
Cub Camp early in May.
Auxiliary Meets
The Guides and Brownies Auxil-
iary met on Monday in St, Paul's
Parish Hall. President Mrs, Grace
Castle was in charge of the meet-
ing attended by mothers -cif the
Guides and Brownies and other
interested persons. -
It was decided to request a do-
nation of $1 from each mother to
cover incidental expenses. Mrs.
Joseph Corey was appointed new
badge secretary. -The local auxil-
iary will pay the expenses for the
leaders to attend a leaders' camp
to be held in Meaford on May 7.
All members were asked to help
in the delivery of cookies on
"Cookie Day", Saturday, June 4.
A nominating committee con-
sisting of Mrs. J. A. Addison, Mrs.
Joseph Murphy and Mrs. L. G.
Winter was appointed and asked
to bring in a slate of officers in
the fall.
