Qinte recently Mrs.. Elizabeth
Beatty reached ,her '90th birthday;
and she was the •recipient of many
birthday greetings and good wish-
es for the future. She was able
to receive in person those ,who
called to congratulate her. For
many years Mrs. Beatty was the
librarian of our local library.
The public schools in this neigh-
bourhood have returned to normal
in the matter of attendance as
the pupils who were the victims of
the flu epidemic" have returned
to school.
General dissatisfaction is being
expressed at the new train and
mail schedule. The time to an-
swer •mail is very limited. Varna
residents hope that sufficient
pressure will be brought to bear
upon the authorities responsible,
to provide something more satis-
factory.
