The Ilderton club trailing 5-3 going into the final period turned on the pressure and outscored the Flyers 4-1 in the final 2©. minutes to earn their vie, tory. The winning goal came with less than three minutes remaining. Zurich pulldMeine • r for the last e 42 seconds in favour of an extra forward but they didn't even come close. . - Wilker was the scoring star for Ilderton picking up three goals in- cluding the winning one, D. Urb- shott, two; Honey and McNair were the other Ildertgn marksmen. Benny Gignac, just recently back from his Christmas holidays had a big night scoring four times and assisting on 'another, Jini Hayter, Don •Hesse': scored Zurich goals in the second period. Both goaltefiders played :out- standing games although Scarbor- ough looked very bad on Gignac's first goal. The Ilderton netmind- er fanned on a shot that had just enough inoinentum to cross the all alone. Merner took exception to Don Urbshott patrolling too close to his crease and- received a two minute slashing penalty. Ben- ny Gignac' sat out the two min- utes and while he was off McNair flashed the red light. Gignac just stepped on the ice in time to re- lay Edgar's pass to Hesse in the clear and .Don made no mistake lower left hand corner. picking the Ilderton showed a very neat passing attack but their passes were just failing to click. The line of Don; Bob Urbshott and McNair played a standout game for the winners. Their passing was the, difference between victory and defeat. Bob McKinley played a partic- ularly effective game on defence for the Flyers, along with Army Armstrong; who is improving every time out. ` ILDERTON-goal,- Scarborough; defence, Honey, Simpson; centre, McNair; wings Leitch, Henry; subs, D. Urbshott,.' B. Urbshott, Wilker, Charlton, McAndless, Ev- The first period was very even, with most of the play in the centre ice area, Gignac and McKinley ,nearly clicked at the 12 minute mark on a smart passing play. Zurich applied the pressure and made things hot for Scarborough and company for a few minutes. Jerry Holmes and Honey, the bur- ly Ilderton rearguard, had a priv- ate feud 'going but their slashing and boarding escaped the watch- ful eyes .of Boussey. and McLean.
