Christian Reformed Church, Clin-
ton, officiated Saturday afternoon,
September 25, .at the wedding of
Cornelia Greidanus, Londesboro,
and Gerrit Haak, 1 Clinton. The
bride is a daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. John Greidaniis, Londesboro
and -the bridegroom is a son of Mr.
and Mrs. Klaas, Haak, Groningen,;
Holland.

brother of the bride, was organist.
The bride wore a floor -length
gown of white nylon net over taf-
feta with a full skirt. The bodice
of Chantilly lace was topped with
a matching jacket. Her fingertip
veil was caught to a coronet of
seed pearls, and she carried a
shower bouquet of pink and white
carnations.
At a reception which followed in
the parlor of St. Andrew's Pres-
byterian Church, the bride's moth-
er, received wearing a navy dress,,
matching accessories, and a cor-
sage of white carnations.
Following a trip to Northern
Ontario, Mr. and Mrs. Hoak will
live in Clinton.

St. Paul's Anglican Church,
Clinton, was the setting of a pretty
wedding last Friday evening, Sep-
tember 24, when Rev. R. M. P.
Bulteel, rector, officiated at the
double -ring ceremony uniting in
marriage Margaret Harriet Frem-
lin, Clinton, and Dennis' Wright
Penfound, Londesboro. The bride
is a daughter of Harold.. Fremlin,
Sr., Clinton, and . the late Mrs.
,Fremlin; and the bridegroom is a
son of Mr, and -Mrs. Wilfred Pen-
found,

aunt of the bride, was organist,
Given in marriage by her father,
the bride wore a waltz -length
gown of nylon net over, taffeta
with an 'overskirt of embroidered
net, with a scalloped hemline. The
molded bodice'; featured a shrug
jacket of net. Her filtgertip veil
was caught to a lily -of -the -valley
headdress And she carried a bou-
quet of American' Beauty roses.
Mrs. D. Farnell, Montreal, as
matron of honor, chose a waltz -
length gown mf greet -shot taffeta
with coffee -toned lace yoke and
Peter Pan collar. She wore a petal
headdress and carried 'a nosegay
of yellow baby chrysanthemums.
Miss Wanda Fremlin, Clinton, a
niece of the bride, as flower -girl,
wore a lime green nylon net over
taffeta frock with a floral head-
dress and a nosegay of yellow
chrysanthemums.
Elgin Penfound, Londesboro,
brother of the bridegroom, was
groomsman. ,
Following the reception which
was held atthe home of the bride's
father, Huron Street, the couple
left for a trip to Northern On-
tario, the bride travelling in a
beige suit, with navy accessories
and a corsage of roses. Mr. and
Mrs. Penfound will live in Londes-
boro. .

Ford officiated at the wedding of
his granddaughter, Susan Bricker,
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Rance E.
Bricker; 81 Albert Street, Water-
loo, when she became the bride of
Donald Edward Waite, son of Mr.
and Mrs. William D. Waite, 149
William Street W., Waterloo, on
Saturday, September 18, 1954.
The. ceremony took place in a
simple background of white and
pink gladioli in the Church of St.
John the Evangelist, Kitchener.
The rector, the Rev. Canon C. C.
W. Mixer, assisted in the service.
James Hopkirk was organist.
The bride chose a floor -length
gown of imported antique ivory
illusion tulle over taffeta. The
bodice was showered with spri-
motifs of satin rosettes. The port-
rait neckline was edged with a
border of satin rosettes. It was

was maid of honour, and brides-
maids were Miss Ann Breithaupt,
Mrs. David Bricker, Kitchener, and
Miss. Louise Mothersill, Windsor.
They wore waltz -length gowns in
brois-de-rose shade taffeta, fash-
ioned with wide V -necklines,
bracelet -length sleeves, and gath-
ered'skirts. The bodices were ac-
cented with covered buttons. Their
headdresses were bands of English
ivy with cluster of small pink
roses, and their bouquets were car-
ried out in the same theme.
W. H. Cook, Kitchener, was best
man. Ushers were Robert G.
Groff, John C. Cash, Waterloo, and
David R. Bricker, Kitchener.
The reception was held . at the
home of the bride's parents. The
bride's mother received, wearing a
gown of beige lace over pink taf-
feta, and her hat was of matching
material. Her corsage was of pink
feathered carnations,
The bridegroom's mother was in
pink taffeta with white collar
studded with pearls, and her hat
was of matching white. She wore
a corsage of white feathered car-
nations.

cinnamon wool suit with pleated

at Queen's University, taking his
last year in an engineering course.
The bride is well-known in Bay-
field, having spent summer vaca-
tions here with her grandparents.
Pease -Johnston

In a beautiful setting of gladioli
and chrysanthemums on Saturday,
September the eleventh, Miss Bev-
erley Lois Johnston, daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Charles D. Kelly,
became the bride of John Lloyd
Pease, London, son of Mrs. John
Pease and the late Mr. Pease.
Rev. John Lynch, London, per-
formed the double ring ceremony
before the main altar of St. John
the Baptist. Church, Amherstburg.
The bride, who was given its
marriage 'by her father, was at-
tractively gowned in a strapless
dress of white nylon lace and tulle
with a bouffant skirt of ballerino
length, and a short jacket. A Jul-
iet cap held her veil of French
illusion. She carried a white pray-
er book covered with red roses and
stephanotis .\
Her only attendant, Miss Dawn
Chappus, LaSalle, chose a blue
crystalline gown in ballerina len-
gth, with a panel of Dior velvet,
styled on princess lines. Her hat
was of matching velvet and yellow
'mums formed her Colonial bou-
quet.'
Mrs. Harvey Hamiltdn played
,the wedding music, and Thomas
Hamilton was soloist.
Irvin Pease was his brother's
best man, and Wilfred, Sandford,
London,' and Robert Johnston,
brother of the bride, were ushers.
Following a wedding breakfast
at Bob Lo Restaurant, a reception
was held at the home of the bride's
aunt, Mrs. Walter Callum, Dal-
housie St. A lace cloth covered
the bride's table and the wedding
cake was flanked by ,white tapers,
The bride's mother wore a cocoa
shade taffeta dress and pink velvet
hat. Her corsage was of pink car-
nations. The bridegroom's mother
wore a grey wool suit with black
hat and accessories, and a corsage
of pink carnations.
For their wedding trip to De-
troit and points east, the bride
wore a grey winter cotton frock
cut on princess lines, a red velvet
hat and matching accessories.
On their, return they will reside
in Byron. •The bride is a graduate
of St. Toseph's School of Nursing.
The many friends of the groom, a
native of Bayfield, offer congrat-
ulationt and wish them every
happiness.
PORTER'S HILL
Conununity Club
The Porter's Hill Community
Club held its regular meeting � on
Tuesday last at the home of Mrs.
Glen Picard. The president, Mrs.
Peter Hhrrison, was in Charge of
the meeting which opened with the
Lord's Prayer. Secretary's > and
treasurers reports were read.
A bus trip to the"Royal Winter
Fair was` discussed but left over
till the'October meeting for, final
discussion. It was decided to give
$10 donations to the Clinton Hos-
pital Auxiliary and to the CNIB.
The remainder of the afternoon
was spent in quilting, and the
meeting closed with the Mazpah
benediction. Lunch was served by
the hostess.
Anniversary
Anniversary services will be held
in Grace Church on Sunday, Oct-
ober 10, with Rev. Norman Mc-
Leod, Kippen, as guest speaker.
Special music by the choir and out-
side talent will be heard at both
services.
WA Bazaar
The Woman's Association of
Grace Church held a bazaar and
bake sale in the Council Chambers,
Clinton, on Thursday of last week,
The various booths were well dis-
played and the event proved very
successful financially.

Chester Lee has purchased a
block containing a barber shop and
two apartments from Kenneth Mc-
Kenzie, Parkhill, and takes pos-
session October 4. Mr. Lee will
continue with his barbering busi-
ness. .
The many friends of Mrs. Bertha
Bell will regret to learn she suf-
fered a heart attack on Sunday
and was removed to South Huron
Hospital, Exeter, on Monday.
Mr. and Mrs. Roy Palmer re-
turned to their home in Windsor
Sunday after spending a week's
holiday with Mrs. Fisher and Mrs.
Palmer. Mr. Palmer has been an
employee of Silverwood's for over
20 years.
Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Reid
spent the first part of this week
in Toronto.

only part-time directors since May
because of a shaky financial posi-
tion, the recreation group advo-.

Community Programs Branch of
the Department of Education.
