Dmytro Nahirny, P.O Uhnow, Poland, is a holiday nest with Mr. and Mrs. Fred Sloman. - Mrs. Ruth Walford, and son Jack, Coshocton, Ohio, are visiting Mr. and Mrs. Frank Andrews. Dr. and: Mrs. Struthers, once of China, and new with the Ontario Health Department, are at the home of the late A. T. and Mrs. Cooper. Mrs: N. W. Trewartha has re- turned to her home after visiting her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. ' and Mrs. Harold Mawson and family, Vilna, Alta. Mr, and Mrs: L. C. Evans, St. Thomas, were guests of Mr. and, Mrs, Norman Carter • on Sunday. Frank Trewartha and son Laurie, Cardinal, have been holi- daying with Mr. and Mrs. Howard Trewartha. Mayor and Mrs. Morgan J. Ag- new attended the funeral services of Mrs. James Morrison at Wing ham on Tuesday last. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Steep and David, London, spent Sunday with the former's mother, Mrs. David Steep. Earl Steep is a postal clerk at Goose Bay, Labrador. Mr. and Mrs: Mervyn Batkin and family spent last week in Odgensburg and Watertown, N.Y., visitzr.•g E. J. Dailey. They ,camp- ed outdoors by the side of the St. Lawrence River. Mr. and Mrs. John Stanley, Mrs. Clarke Stanley, Mrs, Myrtle Pep- per and Bob VanRieson, have re- turned home after two weeks holi- day to Saskatchewan. While out West they attended the Calgary Stampede. Mrs. Myrtle Pepper re- mained at her home in Fusilier, Sask Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Cuning- hame were in Owen Sound recent- ly where they visited Mr, and Mrs. London Road Club Hears Of Bus Tour To. Hamilton. Sixteen members'and one visit- or attended the June meeting of the. London Road Club held at the home of Mrs. Cooper. The singing of "Juanita", followed by the re- peating of the Creed opened the meeting. The minutes of the last meeting were read. The roll call was answered and the treasurer and' flower convener gave' their monthly reports. One new mem- ber joined the club. The mystery box was won by Mrs. Doucette. Miss Dianne Elizabeth Selker left Crumlin Airport, London, on Sunday for Spokane, Washington, where she yl'i11 spend the summer with relatives. Dianne was ac- companied by Dr. Lloyd Cook, a scientist and a native of Kitchen- er, who is a close friend of the family and was returning to his home in Spokane. Missl:elen Ander- son gave an interesting talk on her bus trip to Hamilton with the Junior Farmers on June 15. The program then closed with an ent- ertaining reading by Mrs, ` Clegg entitled "Danein -Square". The meeting closed with the singing of "'God 'Saye the Queen" and a lovely tea was served by the hostesses, Mrs. Cooper; Mrs. LeBeau and Mrs. Doucette. The next meeting will be held on September 9 at the home of Mrs. Van Ninhuys. The roll call will be' "Bring a dozen cookies with recipe, and sell them." Obituaries Mrs. A. T. Cooper Mrs. AIbert T. Cooper died Friday, July 9, in Clinton Public Hospital, after an illness of six months, in her 84th year. Funeral service was conducted at the George B. Beattie funeral home, Rattenbury St. East, Clin- ton, on Monday afternoon with Rev. A. G. Eagle of Ontario Street United Church, Clinton, officiat- ing. Interment was made in the family plot, Clinton Cemetery. - The pallbearers were Ed. Jen- kins, Morley Counter, Frank Fingland, James McGill, M. T. Corless and J. W. Nediger. The flower bearers were Albert Bond, Murray Draper, W. Martin, Harry Charlesworth and Percy Livermore. Mrs. Cooper, the former Annie Louise Sellery, daughter of the late Robert and Martha Gilroy Sellery, was born November 20, 1870, at Kincardine, in Bruce County. She and Albert Thomas Cooper, who died on June 22 this year, were married on September 6, 1899, and had lived in Clinton and contributed much to the com- munity for 55 years. Mrs, Cooper was a devoted member of Wese`ley-Willis United Church; a faithful worker in the Woman's Association of her church, of which she was presi- dent for some years; a member and past secretary of the Woman's Missionary Society auxiliary; an ardent member and worker in the Women's Christian Temperance Union; and a faithful member for years of the Women's Hospital Auxiliary of Clinton, Surviving are an only son, Willis Clark Cooper, and his three children, Elizabeth, Peter, and Janet, all of London, England; two brothers, George C. Sellery, Madison, Wis.; and Roy A, Sellery, Wilmette, Ill.; one sister, Mrs. Frank St. Clair, Southern Pines, N.C. After a full program of sports was held lunch was enjoyed and the pupils pre- sented their teacher; Miss Patricia Morrison, with a silver tray in the grape design.' The address was read by Allen Finch and the pre- sentation was made by, Leo Medd. Thomas O. Cairns Following a ten-day illness Thomas Oliver Cairns, Brucefield, died in Scott Memorial Hospital, Seaforth, early Monday morning, July 5, in his 82nd year. Hb was born in Hibbert and attended S.S. 3 and was a farmer in his earlier years, retiring in 1951. He attended Cromarty Presbyterian Church. He is sur- vived by one brother, William Cairns, Brucefield. The body rested at the G. A. Whitney funeral home, Seaforth, where Rev. W. J. Maines, Bruce- field, conducted funeral service on Wednesday afternoon.
