Adams, Clinton, and the late Ern-
est Adams.
The bride was given in marriage
by her stepfather. She wore a
floor -length gown of nylon net over
satin. A coronet held her finger-
tip veil of illusion net which
complimented her gown. She wore
a lace jacket and carried a bou-
quet of red roses.
Mrs. Corey Roman, London, was
the bride's only attendant wearing
a gown of yellow net over satin
and carrying a pink rose bouquet.
Mr. Corey Roman was groomsman.
At a reception at the Cobble-
stone Inn, the bride's mother re-
ceived wearing aqua blue crepe
and lace with matching hat and
corsageof pink roses, and black
accessories. The groom's mother
assisted, wearing a rose gown with
lace panels and matching hat with
white accessories and corsage of
red roses.
For a wedding trip to the United
States, the bride changed to a
navy dress with rose topcoat and
navy accessories.

The manse of St. Andrew's Pres-
byterian Church, Clinton, was the
scene on Saturday afternoon, May
29, of the marriage of Doreen
Florence, eldest daughter of Mr,'
and > Mrs. Al Edmunds, Owen
Sound, to David Orville, son of
the late Mr, and Mrs. John Earn-
est, Detroit. Rev. D. J. Lane was
the clergyman officiating, •
The bride, given in marriage by
her father, wore' a white ankle
length gown. The bodice was ov-
erlaid with Chantilly lace, and was
fashioned wtih long closely fitted
sleeves ending in points over the
hands, tiny buttons from the neck-
line to the Waist and pointed into
the full -gathered skirt of nylon
tulle over satin.
A tiara net, encrusted with seed
pearls, held her fingertip vein of.
embroidered. net. She wore white
satin sandals; and carried a heart-
shaped bouquet of red Better -time.
roses and feat, tied with red satin
ribbon.
Mrs. Jack Earnest was brides-
maid wearing an ankle length.
gown of heavenly blue nylon tulle
over taffeta, small light blue hat
and lace mittens of heavenly blue,
and gold sandals. She carried a
heart shaped bouquet of pink ros-
es, tied with pink satin ribbon.
Jack Earnest, brother of the
groom, was best man.
Following the marriage service,
the bridal party motored to Owen
Sound, where a reception was held
at the home of the groom's grand-
parents. The home was gaily de-
corated for the occasion, with pink
and white streamers, white bells,
lilacs and tulips.
The pillared wedding cake
centred the buffet table and was
flanked with pink candles in silver
holders.
Receiving with the bridal couple,
Mrs. Edmunds wore a light blue
dressmaker suit, pink nylon blouse
withnavy accessories, while the
groom's aunt, Mrs. L. Brown, chose
a dress of light blue taffeta and
white accessories.
Guests were present from Owen
Sound, Detroit and Clinton.
Mr. and Mrs. Earnest will make
their home in Clinton.
Barker-McClymont
A pretty spring wedding took
place in Varna United Church last
Saturday amid a floral setting
formed with baskets of apple
blossoms and bleeding. heart, lilac
and Princess Elizabeth tulips,
when Mary, daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. Fred McClymont, Varna, be-
came the bride of Donald Barker,
R.R. 3, Weston, son of Mrs. Mabel
Barker, R.R. , Weston, and the
late Lorne Barker. Rev: T. J, Pitt
conducted the ceremony.
Given in marriage by her father,
the bride was charming in a floor -
length gown of embossed nylon
over net and satin, with fitted
bodice falling into a bouffant
skirt, The sleeves were styled in
a shirred epaulette effect and the
nylon yoke was trimmed with tiny
seed pearls. Her fingertip veil of
French illusion net was caught to
a beaded coronet. She carried a
bouquet pf pink carnations.
The bride's sister, Miss Marg-
aret McClymont, Varna, was maid
of honour, dressed in a waltz -
length gown of bouquet blue tulle,
and Chantilly lace over taffeta.
Panels of shirred tulle, offset with
an insert of Chantilly lace fash-
ioned the fitted strapless bodice.
She wore a lace bolero and car-
ried pink carnations.
Miss Joan McClymont, also sis-
ter of the bride, was bridesmaid,
dressed similarly to the maid of
honor, in rose taffeta, and carried
blue carnations,
Groomsman was George Ward -
law, and ushers were Harold Bark-
er, Thistletown, cousin of the
groom; Ivan McClymont, Varna,
brother of the bride, and John
Barker, Thistletown, brother of the
groom.
Organist for the occasion was
Berne McKinley, Zurich, cousin of
the bride, and the soloist, Miss
Grace Farr, Thistletown, aunt of
the groom, sang "The Wedding
Prayer" during the signing of the
register.
At the reception which followed
in the church parlour, the bride's
table was centred with a three -
tiered wedding cake, pink candles,
blue forget-me-not and lily-of-the-
valley.

wearing navy irridescent taffeta
with pink and navy accessories,
and carried a corsage of pink car-
nations. The groom's mother wore
steel blue taffeta with white ac-
cessories.
Guests attended from Orillia,
Toronto, St. Catharines, London,
Brampton, Woodbridge, Hespeler,
Thistletown, Ontario and Bay City,
Mich,
For the wedding trip into the
United States and points north,
the bride wore a trim navy suit
with navy and white accessories.
Upon their return the young couple
plan to reside on the groom's farm
near King, Ontavio.

Women's Institute Gathers for P esentation Ceremony'
At a short ceremony held at the entrance to the Clinton
Community Park last Friday evening, Mrs. Mervyn Batkin, presi-
dent of the Clinton Women's Institute, made official presentation
of the keys to the new gates, to Mayor M. J. Agnew. In his.
remarks replying to, Mrs, Batkins' words of presentation, Mr.
Agnew said, "It is a pleasure to officiate in this capacity for the
town of Clinton, and in accepting the gates for the Town and. for
the Park Board, I feel sure that as long as they remain, we will
remember the ladies of the Women's Institute, who presented
them to the people, of Clinton."
