WILLIAMS—In memory of my
loving father, who passed away
April 25, 1953:
"He wished none a last farewell,
Nor even said goodbye,
He had gone before we knew;
And only God knew why.
Asleep in God's beautiful garden,
Away ,from sorrow and pain,
Some day when life's journey is
ended
We shall be together again."

Program Started
For Calfhood
Vaccination
Dr. Harold Worton, provincial
veterinary, Department of Agri-
culture, Toronto, was in Clinton
recently to meet committees
from Turnberry, Grey, Howick,
McKillop and Tuckersmith Town-
ships, regarding the setting up of
the calfhood vaccination program.
A meeting was held here with
Ashfield, East and West Wawan-
osh, Stanley, Goderich and Col-
borne committees on hand and
with the provincial veterinary at-
tending. '
It was recommended that, the
various township Brucellosis com-
mittees suggest to their township
councils the names of inspectors to
supervise the programs in the
townships. After the council ap-
points the inspector, he will visit
all cattle owners in the area to
obtain the number of female heifer
calves to be vaccinated and the
farmers' choice of veterinary to do
the vaccination. The inspector
submits the information to the
township clerk who in turn for-
wards it to the veterinary concern -
06.
Calves between the ages of six
and nine months will be vaccinat-
ed, with the first vaccinations be-
ing done in April.

Ever consider the 'Canadian dol-
lar? It is rather a government
document which states that the
Bank of Canada, will pay to the
bearer, on demand, $1. It doesn't
say payment will be in gold but in
terms of itself—in other words a
Canadian dollar is worth a Canad-
ian dollar.

JUNIOR FARMERS TO
DEBATE SUBJECT
OF FOREIGN MATTERS
Whether of not an expanding
foreign market for agricultural
products is essential to the pros-
perity, of Ontario's agriculture will
be debated by Junior Farmers
from Haltlimand and Carleton
Counties at the annul conference
at the Ontario Agricultural Col-
lege, Guelph, this month. This is
the final debate of a provincial de-
bating competition sponsored by
the Junior Farmers' Association of
Ontario which has been under way
since October of 1953. Teams from
22 counties entered in the prelim-
inary competition in October.
