BRUCE MeCLINCHEY & SON Proprietors Harold Jackson, Auctioneer 9-10-b SEE THE NEW Happy Doubles Consider UN The topic, "The United Nations in New 'York" was described by Gwen and Gordon Murdoch on Monday evening when members of the Happy Doubles Club of On- tario Street United Church met for their regular meeting. Four groups were formed for discussion on the subjects: the world health organizations; UNESCO; Canada and the United Nations; peace. Information on these topics was found in several world affairs magazines. The devotional period was in the charge of Helen and Arthur Aiken and the meeting opened with the hymn, "0 God of Love; 0 King of Peace". This was followed by Psalm 72. A reading was given by Art Aiken and another hymn was sung. The business session followed and the minutes of the last meet- ing were read. A letter of thanks was read from Helen and joe Finck. Also a letter from the Cancer Society was read and dis- cussed and it was decided that the club would donate $10 to this cause. The Murdochs were presented with a copy of the new revised version of the Bible, upon their departure to Ottawa. "For They are Jolly Good Fellows" was sung.
