The February meeting of the
Clinton Unit of the 'Federation of
WoMen Teachers' in

Ontario was held in the Clinton
Public School on the evening of
February 17, Miss Edna Jamieson,
president, opened the meeting
with scripture reading and the
federation prayer. • Minutes of the
previous' zbeeting and the treasur-
er's report were given by Miss
Olive Johnson.
A study period followed during
which various members gave short
readings on, or discussed the qual-
ities deemed necessary for success-
ful teaching. Mr. and Mrs. Alex
Inkley were the guests of the
evening, and displayed their inter-
esting collection of pictures taken
in various scenic spots in Ontario,
especially in Bruce County, A so-
cial hour in the teachers' lounge
brought the evening to a close,

District President
Huronic Rebekah Lodge No. 306
met Monday evening with Noble
Grand Janet Zapfe in the chair.
A donation was made to St. John's
Ambulance Corps. District Deputy
president, Kay Cann, will make
her official visit at the next meet-
ing on March 15. Amber Rebekah
Lodge, Hensall, which was unable
to attend the meeting due to bad
weather, will attend the next
meeting. The penny auction was
held over for the coming meeting.
Each member was asked to bring
a parcel worth 35 cents.
GERLS' CLUB PLANS TO
SPONSOR NURSERY PROGRAM
The Ontario Street United
Church Girls' Club will sponsor a
program of lectures and slides by
the Downham Nursery Company
on "Beautifying Canada by Land-
scaping your Home" on March 11
at 8 p.m. All welcome. Lunch
will be served. Please note change

VALENTINE BAKE SALE
The Ladies' Orange Benevolent
Association No. 377 met on Tues-
day evening, February 23. Worthy
Mistress Sister Bell presided. The
report from the Valentine bake
sale was very successful, The sick
and visiting committee reported

New Members
Mrs. Jean Smith, Mrs, H. Camp-
bell and Mrs. L. Noakes were re-
ceived as members of the Ladies'
Auxiliary to the Hensall Branch
No. 458 Canadian Legion at the
regular meeting presided over by
president Mrs. S. Rannie on Tues-
day evening.
Mrs. N. Horton, Mrs. J. Sim-
mons, Mrs. H. Bonthron, Mrs. R.
McKenzie, Mrs. S. Rannie and
Mrs. W. Brown volunteered to
conduct the Red Cross CanyaS.
The Auxiliary will cater to two

the Huron -Perth Unit of the On-
tario Cancer Society Mrs. R.
Davis and Mrs. Bertha Moir re-

Mrs. John Henderson won the
mystery prize. The Auxiliary will
sponsor a draw in aid of the arti-
ficial ice project. Mrs. Bryan Kyle
