Colts. Lose Tough One
To Milverton Dominions
It was adetirmined Clinton Colt
team that took the ice in Milver-
ton last Saturday' night but as de-
tirmined as they were, they had
to go down on the short end of a
6-5 score.
This was undoubtedly one of the
most thrilling games that will be
seen in the group this year. Both
teams had two goal leads at differ-
. ent stages of the game only to
see their advantage eliminated in a
few short minutes. Clinton led by
one goal at the end of the first two
periods but couldn't match, the last
period goals of the Dominions. The
fitting climax came when Clinton
forced a face-off in the Milverton
end of the rink with only 40 sec-
onds ,remaining, they pulled their
goal -tender and put six attackers
all in the Milverton end in an at-
tempt to tie the score and it al-
most worked. The Colts, stormed
Gatschene in his citadel for the
entire 40. seconds but had to be
content with hitting the goalpost
no less than three times.
Ross Kipfer was the hero for
Milverton scoring, the winning goal
with just over six minutes of play-
ing time remaining, the two West -
man brothers each scored twice
and "Ole Poison" Bobby Gaul lit
the, light on the other Milverton
counter. Bun Smith and Harry
McEwan with two each .and Bill
Hanly were the Clinton goal -gett-
ers.

Contest.
Orangeville Dufferins were very
poor hosts to the Clinton Colts
last Thursday night when they
handed the visiting Clinton team
a 5-1 drubbing. The team from
the northern town showed why
they are up with the leaders in
the group by outscoring the Colts
in every period, even though they
were outplayed for two periods of
the game.
It was a very hard hitting game
with twenty penalties which in-
cluded three match misconducts,
two 10 minute misconducts, and
three majors.
Hoare led the Orangeville' attack
with two goals, single tallies going
to D. Irons, Lott and Hackett, Me -

its schedule during. the past week
and already three games have been
played. Players for the league are
mostly between the ages of nine
and 12 years with a few excep-
tions where boys are just a few
days over the age limit, It is the
idea of the.I•Cinsmen that out of all
the players one team will be pick-
ed to represent Clinton during
Young Canada Week at Goderich
during Easter holiday period.
'Activities during the week saw
the Bruins'. and Red Wings play to
a 1-1 tie. - Kenny Currie scored
the lone Bruin tally while this was
duplicated by R. Cummings for the
Red Wings. On Monday night
Leafs and Canadiens hooked up in
a mammoth duel. Canadiens broke
into an early lead on a goal by
Peter Garon. It looked as though
Bobby Watkins in the Canadiens
net would record the first shutout
of the schedule .when. Raymond
Garon rifled a hard shot into the
net to tie the score with less than.
three minutes remaining. Tuesday
afternoon, Gerald Cox, with two
goals, led the Red Wings to a 2-0
11.36. Penalties: Horne, (5 min.),

Plan Invitation
Basketball Meet
At RCAF Station
Group Captain H. C. - Ashdown,
commanding officer„ RCAF Sta-
tion,:Clinton, has announced plans
for a High School Invitation Bas-
ketball tournament to be held at
the station on January 16.
This is the first tournament of
this kind to be sponsored by, the
RCAF Station. The teams invited
to participate include Stratford
C.I. Greenshirts, St. Marys Red
Devils, South Huron H.S. Panth-
ers, Seaforth Golden Bears, Gode-
rich Blues, Mitchell Blue Devils
and the Clinton 'Redmeh.
A short' tour of the RCAF
training school will precede the
day -long affair.
This tournament will give dist-
rict high school teams a chance' to
play on a large floor, which many
of the schools lack, and which
hampers the chances of any dist-
rict team going into WOSSA
play-offs.
If you have frequent headaches,
dizziness, fainting spells, lame
back, accompanied by chills,
cramps, bunions, jatindice, chil-
blains or fits, it is a sign you are
not well and are liable to die any
minute. So hurry to the News -
Record office, send by post, or give
to the editor, whichever is the
fastest, the renewal to your sub-
scription, and thus make sure of
a good obituary notice.
BADMINTON

Hall on Tuesday, January 19 at
8.15, to line up a program for the
remaining four months. Badmin-
ton will be played after the busi-
ness meeting. New members, as
