He became despendent after his de-
feat and was subjects to fits of mental
depression. He -went into real estate.
But this was not as prosperous a field
fesr him as the foundry business was.
Brooklyn Doctor Drowned.
Port 'Colborne, July 22.-A sad
drowning accideut occurred here yes-
terday. Dr. Murray of Brooklyn,
came here with his wife and ehild to
visit his sister, Mrs, Goodwin of Wel-
land, who has a cottage on the lake
shore. The doctor was in bathing,
and either got a oramp or the under-
tow caught him, as *quite a sea was
