ied back by Miss Ida, who has a good

daughter of Mr. and Mrs, :John Wise,

ley Township, was solemnized in the

friends on Thursday, June • 6th, at

Hall Woods performed the ceremony.
The bride who was wearing a gown of
lingerie and lace caught with tiny
rosebuds with tulle veil in cap effect,
crowned with Lily of the Valley, was
brought in and given away by her
fa.ther Sht wore the groom's gift a
pearl pendant and carried a shower
boquet of roses and Lily of the Volley,
The wedding marches were played by
.the sister of the bade, Miss Ruby
Wise, wearing pea green with nile
trimmings. She also wore the gift
of the groona, a pearl pin. After the
ceremony a dainty luncheon was
served, the rooms being prettily decor-
ated with. flowers, Later Mr. and.
Mrs. Innes left for Chicago and a trip
through the Western States, the bride
travelline in a tailored suit of grey
with chiffon blouse studded with cut
steel and tan hat.

ed the pulpit here very acceptably last
Sunday evening. Next Sabbath ser-
vice will be held at 2 p. m. in the after
noon when Rev. Mr. Boss of Gode•
rich will conduct the service. Sunday
School will he at 1 o'clock.

days with her friend, Miss Goodfellow,
of Guelph.

At a recent meeting of the county,
council Its Vanbtone, barrister, was'
appointed to the High School Board,
to succeed Wm. Nicholson, whasehas
removed from tuwn.
Wingham council has decided to ad-
vertise in city papers for industries,of-
fering liberal ieducements.
As Wingham has day power and
three branches of railways,it is a first-
class centre.
The rate was fixed at 26 raids, the
same as last year, which is a reason-
able rate, as property is assessed only
for about 50 per cent, of value.
A. DI Porter Was appointed as mem-
ber of the Hoard of Health.
The Wingham Creamery, which
was started only this spring, already,
finds it necessary to enlarge, -as busi-
ness is exceeding their expectations.
The electric light committee have

The funeral of Mrs. F. Richardson
was held Monday to the Btuevale
Cemetery. Besides her husband Mrs.
Richardson leaves one brother and
two sisters. Deceased wab 66 yea,rs old
and died on Thursday last after an ill-
ness extending over some time,
Rev. Mr. Rare, of Arkena, occupied
the pulpit of St. Andrew's -Church Sun
day, and • preached two very good
-sernsons. At the evening service there

dist Church, being at the conference.

Mr. William Clark had a stroke of
paralysis on Sabbath morning. His
right side is completely paralyzed and
his condition is very serious.
Mr. 0. C. Pilgrim -received a tele-
gram hearing the sad news that his
brother's wife had passed away. Mr.
Pilgrim immediately left for his bro-
ther's home in Pennsylvania, and does
not expece to return to his home here
tor several days.

ed pulpits last Sehbath.

believe that Mrs. Hunter enjoys the
town life rather than the herd work
on the farm.

Mr. Ben Lyon, of Carnegie, Man.,
delivered two 2year old steers to Tos.
Donaldson, of Brandon, Manitoba, the
first week in May, which tipped the
scales at 2750 lbs. These beat the two
sold by Ex Reeve Hill, of Hallett, re-
cently mentioned in these columns.
Mrs. William Longman, who had
her drab fractured in a runawayre,
cently when the horse became fright-
ened by a cat leaping on to its back,
.had to undergo an operation Sunday,
and had her foot amputated half -way
between the ankle and the knee, The
operation was a direct result of the
accident.

Belie are visiting their sister, Mvs.
J. D. Amalie, of Leamington.
The Hullett Township Council is

The funeral of Mrs, Wrn. Vodden,
who died Friday evening after a pro-.
longed illness of several meths from
herb trouble, was held on Monday,
Rev, J. H. Osterhout conducted ser-
vices ab the house at 2 p. m., after
which interment was med. in Landes-
boro Cemetery. Mrs. Vadden leaves
her nrother, husband, four sons, Wes-
ley, Joseph, John and Charles, and
four daughters, elehel, Gertie, Mary
and Grace; all at home.

seven o'clock last Wednesday morn-
ing the Church of the Holy Rosary,
St. Oleic avenue, Toronto, was the
sceneof the marriage. of Miss Violet
Cameron, yoUngest daughter of Mr.
11. C. Cameron, of British Columbia,
formerly of Cornwall, Unt., to Mr.
Killora-n. The bride, who was given
away by Mr. Piendergast, wore a blue
and red shot suit and flower hat, and
she carried an ivory prayer book. The
groom's gift to her was a three -stone
diamond ring. There were no attend-
ants. After the ceremony the bride
and groom drove to the station and
left for New York and "Alstntic City.
On their return they will reside in
Goderich.
