Mrs. Thos. 1/ Mean, while out in the
rear of her residence feeding her fowl,
missed her footing and teelsu heayily
that she was unetite to rise, and lay
there in the cold till her soh camehome
to dinner about an hour afterwards.
She Was so badly frozen that she has
been confined to her bed, and is in a
vele' serious condition. •
Two special military instructors
from the militia departnieraeit Ottawa

and all the officers of the thirty-third
Battalion of the county of Huron have
been present in the courthouse, and

condition. The past year was the
most prosperous in the history of the
