ful gown of white satin and large

maiden -hair fern, lily -of -the -valley
and white roses. She wore the
'groom's gift, a 'pearl necklace and
also an heirloom which had come

the Manitou branchof-the Bank of
Hamilton and son of Ms. and Mrs.
Bea. Mason of Blyth, was married
recently to Miss Bessie R. Taylor,
also, formerly of this place.
Mr, Frank Metcalf, one of Blyth's
most progressive and public-spirited
citizens, has been appointed) by the
Dominion Government inspector of
fruits for the western provinces,
with headquar t.er•s at Lethbridge, • Al-
ia. Mr. Metcalf is a thorough fruit
man, having made a spoci al study of
it for twenty years and is 'exception-
ally well posted in all kinds of
fruits. For several years he has
had charge of the Huvon County
fruit exhibit at the Provincial Hort-
icultural Exi.tihition in Toronto, hav
log again been appointed this year as
convener of the commission. His
appointment, which was entirely .n -
solicited, meets with the genuine ap-
proved of all who know hien. Mr.
Metcalf will go west as' soon as he
can arrange his burliness matters
here, but will not !novo his family
from Blyth for some . time at least.
