made it one of the best weekly
newspapers, in Ontario, of late

Born in Stamford 'township, Wel-
land counftly hi 1841, and moving to
Thorold in 1859, he, learned the
printing business with the Thorold
Gazette moving to Welland and
purchasing the Tribune 111 1865. He
had active charge of it until five
