has to refuse calls to preach owing
to nOt posisessing the gift of Ornm-
pres.ence.
The following brief outline con-
cerning the reveeend gentle.man
will give scene idea of his busy life
and if Mrs Greene could be persuael
ed to put his experiences into a
book we are confident the story

Rev. Mr. Greene was born in
what is now the city of Hamilton
on the nth of December, 1833. At
that time. the 'village had not, a
church of any d,eseription but a
little Wesleyan chapel which stood
where the Pirst SiIethodist Church.

try, or rather work in the active
ranks, was spent itt Lucknow, Gran
ton, Gorrie, FullartQfl and' Holmes -
villa, whieh complete.el 41 years
without a break.
Mr. Greone doee, not remember
loping even a Sunday through Sick -
nese, a remarkable record, Since

over 670 times -about 21-2 years of

Mr. George Crooks of Brusgels,
was in town this week visiting his

Mr. Crooks gave the New Era a
call and stated that the last time
he was in Clinton was. the time a
big 'mass meeting was held here
for the Scott Act, a good many
years ago.
Rev, ALL. Smith, of Hensall„ was
a Clinton visitor last -Week.
