The Lucknow Sentinel of last
week has the following local 'which
refers to a brother of Miss Jennie
Holmes of town, and Mr. J. Holmes,
of Tuckersmith :—Mr. W, S. Holmes
who,since the recent mar-
riage of his daughter, has been
living alone, slipped and
fell in the bathroom in his
house on Ross street last Saturday
evening, and sustained severe in- I
juries. For several hours he was
unable to stove to secure assist-
ance, but finally succeeded in
wrapping himself up and informing_
a neighbor of his trouble. His son.
who resides on Stauffer street, -1
was at once' notified. Medical as-'
sistanee was secured, and the old
gentleman has since improved to
' the extent of being able to walk
slowly again.
