Mr. Levi Stong returned last week
from North Bay where he spent
sometime` and was _much impressed
by the progressive spirit prevailing
and the evidence of growth to he
seen on all sides. He wouldn't a

A Pretty Wedding in Stanley-
Yesterday.
A quiet marriage wan solemnized
at the home of Mr. Ralph Stevenson,
of the 'Parr Line •yesterday, when his
second daughter, Miss Emma, was
united in marriage to Mr. Wesley R.
Cockerline of Pilot Mound, Man. The
bride' wore a pretty gown of white
silk lnehseline, the corcentional 'veil
and orange hlosso's , and carried a
boquet of white carnations and,
smilax. The young 'couple were un-
attended. The ceremony was perform-
ed by Rev. T. J. Snowden and, ow-
ing to the recent death of the bride's
mother, the wedding was very quiet,
only iimnediate 'relatives -being pres-
ent. Miss Flossie Stephenson, sister
of the bride . played the wedding
march. After the ceremony, which
took place at noon, the party sat
down to a daintily prepared bridal
lea:t and Mr. and Mrs, Cockerline
left on time, afternoon train from
Brumfield for their home at Pilot
Mound.' The bride was the recipient
of many handl one gifts, the groom's
gift being a beautiful set of mink
furs, and to thepianist a signat ring.
