drews were called to Coshocton,
Oliio, last Thursday by the serious
illness of their oldest bamther, Mr.
James Andrews.

Ada and Elizabeth, of Louisville,
Kentucky, spent a few days of the
past week with -ler cousins, Mrs:
Alex. Morris and Mrs. Wm. Walk-
er. -
Mr. Will. Wiseman, eldest son of Mr.
and Mrs. John Wiseman, and mem-
ber of the Northwest Mounted Pol-
ise, is expected home on Saturday.
He has been stationed at Entwistle,
Sask., and is getting a month's
'furlough. .
Mr, and • Mrs..James Landesborough
of Winnipeg are down on a pro-
longed visit to the old .home in
Ttkckersinith , for the first time in
five years, Miss Munriel Elcoat,
daughter of Mr. Wm, Elcoat, Tuck-
ersmith, who spent the past. six
months with them, returned at the
same time.
Principal and Mrs. Hartley of \Tank -
leek Hill arrived on. Thursday even-
ing last, in time to attend ,St.
Paul's garden party. to which • they
bad been looking because of past
experiences at -that popular event. •
' They remained in town until Mon-
day, the • guests of friends here.
Mrs. Haley has since returned to
Wroxeter where her mother residbs
and Mr. Hartley gois to Sharbot
Lake to take charge of a, Summer
School for the -training of teachers
for that portion ,of Ontario. Since
leaving Clinton. Mr. I-laitley has
been principal . of the Model School
at Vankleek Hill where French
• students , are put through a:course
of. training to qualify 'them as
teachers for the ti -lingual schools;
This work requires much tact and
• patience, for very, obvious reasons
but Mr. Hartley has made good,
as the Government fully' expected

A. few pleasant hours were spent at
the home of Mr. Mann of the Ind
con., on Fbilday last when about fifty
of their friends gathered to help pass
away the eveninrand to remind him
and his son of their birthday. The
evening was spent in violin' selections
and games until about midnight,
when the young folks extoyed dane-
' ins. The company dispersed at an
early- liour. Mr, Mann and son re-
ceived Some handsome presents. •

the Women's Institute will be held

Forester's hall when Miss Giluliorn of
Bright will give an address. All the
