Miss Lillian Clark, who is a stud- ent at the Faculty of Education, Toronto, is home for the Christmas vacation, Miss Loma Woods of Toronto spent Christmas with her parents, Mr, and Mrs. Wm. Woods. Sparks, two western horse -buyers, are home to spend the winter in Ontario, Mr. E. Esler,purohased a fine horse near Seaforth. The many teachers and students from this neighborhood are home for 'their holidays. Owing to the regular school meet- ing day falling on Christmas the meeting was held the day following. Mr. J. Thirsk; after completing a .long season's threshing, is now en- joying a well-earned .rest. Mrs. Swayze, left last week for London where shc,intends to remain for the winter, The annual meeting of Blake Pres- byterian congregation is announced for Friday Jan. 3rd at 2 p. m. Canvassers for rural mail delivery have completed their rounds and have secured more than the required num- ber -of signatures to warrant ,the Department in granting the request. It is to• leave Zurich and traverse I:Iay and Stanley 'Townships. This will be a wonderful convenience to those who hitherto have been miles from an office. The Christmas Day services' in St, Paul's Church were 01: special char- acter and fully in keeping with the festival of the church. The sacred edifice was tastefully decorated with. holly and cut flowers. Large con- gregations attended , both services, there being a record number of com- municants. The . choir sang with good effect Stainers' "0 Zion that bringest good tidings."
