Blyth July 6,—Vestor Bell aged 21
was drowned in the swimming, pond
here this evening when while in bath
beg with a companion he took cramps
and sank in deep water. itis compan

found but nothing could he done. De
ceased was a son of Mr. and Mrs. Bell.
This is the first drowning that has
ever occured at Blyth.

THE VILLAGE OF BLYTH.
Mrs. John Johnston a resident of
London for the past 30 years . died
Monday in her 85th year, She was.
horn in Brecbin , Scotland and was a
daughter of the Robert Drummond'
the founder of the Village of Blyth • Goderich
wbo,came to. Canada with his family
in 1849, Mr. Johnston predeceased his
wife 33 years ago after which Mrs.
Johnston came a resident of London.
The surving members of the family
are!—Mr. Joseph Johnston of John
ston Bros, Mr, John Johnston of San
Francisco Cal., and Miss Sarah John
Herald, member of Lrxeeutive ston at home. The funeral was held
to Woodland Cemetery on Wednes
day afternoon.
