actly what the disease is, how to
avoid it, and how to treat it,

dividual -man, woman and child -
is in danger and should know how

Many citizens drove to Goclerich
and Bayfield and spent the day

At the L utlreran Synod of Central
Central Canada, in sessiin at'L•er-
lin last week,\ it was decided to
join with the Canada Synod in ma-
king preparations for the proper
observance of the four hundredth
anniversary of the reformation in
1917. It was also decided 'tott re-
serve a Sunday in July to celebrate
the 130th anniversary of the estab-
lishing company of the first Lu-
theran church in Upper ,Canada.
This was the ',first protestant
church at Riverdale, near Morris -
burg.

JOHN HILLY,AR
John 'Hillyar one of the oldest
residents of Bowmanvilie died Sun
day morning after a brief illness,
Mr. Hillyar was born in Englai,tl
eighty four years ago and came to
Canada when ayoung man; - He
had lived in Bowmanville for about
sixty years being one of the towns
foremost business men. Two sons
and two dauglyters survive. The
above nientlored gentleman
is the father of W. H. Uellyar of
town, and a more extended report
will appear later,
