the auspices of the Clinton Spring
Fair, last Thursday evening in the '
town hall, was a magnificent suc-
cess!. There ;has been scores of
banquets in this town, butt this
Was undoubtedly the largest and
most interesting ,eviler held here.
The town hall was transformed,
into a massive banquetting hall.
The guests entering the building
their coats and, hats were lbe"h in
the Council Chamber and theguests
were immediately escorted upstairs
to the tables, three of which ex-
tended lengthways tof thee hall,
,
while the table of honor ran cross-
wise. The tables were neatly ar-
ranged and prettily decorat;edwith
cut flowers. As soon as the guests
were seatetd, the excellent waiters,
appeared and the banquet had com
mencee. Mr, Harry Bartliff was
the caterer and/ had an }excellent
spread' for -the 125 guests.

sympathy with them, governments
would have to obey and by bring
ing to task those who oppressed
the farmers they would soon come
to their- own.

in regard to the export of wheat.
Mr. Wilson quoted ,statistics show
ing Canada's annual exports of ap-
proximately 100,000,000 bushels. One

tle. It is doubtful if a better line

While the judges had no easy

the allotment of Hilae awards.

lot.
