LOST AT BRUSSELS.
The hockey team lost at Brussels
on Friday night by a score of 7-4.

GIVEN AN INCREASE.
At a meeting of the directors of
the Blyth Telephone Co. held: in
Induetay Hall on Friday last, the
salary of Mrs. Bennett, who has
charge of the operating depart-
ment! was increased $50 per annum.
The increase was well merited. Mrs

The Mitchell Advocate refers to
the Trlench Cup hockey match in
that townas follows;—In a 'fine
exhibition of hockey here on Wed
nesday evening, Mitchell and Clin-
ton N.H. L. teams had to 'play
twenty minutes overtime to de-
cide the winner. At full time the
scone was a tie, 3 ail,. In theex-
tita period Mitchell scored 2 goals
and Clinton 1, the locals 'winning
by 5 to 4.

After a discussion on the early
closing bylaw on motion of Wiltse
and Canbelon, Bylaw No. 6 for 1914,

brought in covering the business

tion cailried.
