The Clinton Business College had
a very pleasant ;evening last Thurs

two hour skate they adjourned to

with a serious accident at the ap-
ple evaporator. Mr. Rutledge had
some hay stored there and after

;stairs to close the window when

his leg. He is making favorable

ACCEPTS CALL.
Rev. D. K. Grant, Pastor of Wil-
lis Church, has accepted the un-
aminous call from the Presbyterian
church at Olds, Alta, and expects
to leave in a week o4so for his
new chaifge. McKim's newspaper

PRESBYTERY MEETING.
The Presbytery of Huron will
meet in the Presbyterian church in
Seaforth on. the evening of -Mon-
day, February 23rd. At this meet-

be open to the public and all are
cordially invited. The regular buss

GOVERIMENT MAKES GRANT.

and each teacher received an ex-

heard the teachers kick about the

COMING HOME.
Mr, and Mrs. Ed. Johnston, ' of
Clinton, while visiting in Seaforth
a few days ago purchased a fine
up-to-date piano from SheR, Peck
Music House. Mr. and Mrs. John-
ston were residents of the Goshen
Line, near Zurich :some Eears ago.
Mr. Johnston went west to Granria
N. D. in 1878, where he has been ex-
tensively engaged in farming up to
last fall, when they sold out and
moved back to Old Huron and
bought "Cedar Dale' farm near
Clinton. Mr. and Mrs.. (Johnston
will be welcomed .back to Huron by
their many friends'.
INVITED ANOTHER YEAR.
On Tuesday .evening last at a
meeting of ,the quarterly official
board' of Ainslie Street Methodist
Church, Galt, the pastor, Rev. F. M.
Wootton, received a unanimous in-
vitation to remain in the pastorate
for a second year4, ,. Mr. Wootton
expressed the joy with which he
had always done hie work there
and the happy associations he had
formed. Subject to the consent of,,
the conference, he would be pleas-
ed to stay in Galt for another year.
Rev. M. Wootton is well-known
here and during the past two sum-
mers Rev. 3. Greene has supplied
for him during his holidays.
Tuesday evening of this week and
was a decided .success. The Wo-
men's Missionary Society provided
an excellent supper after which
Rev. De. Rutledge made a few
opening remarks after which Mr.
-R. D. Cameron, of Lucknow, gave
a splendid ' address on the M;ele's
Forward Movement and pointed
out the great need for,. the. Mis-
sionary work both in Canada, and
the foreign countries, Mr. Camer-
on is a forcible ,speaker and soon
won his way into the hearts of
his listeners. Rev. Mr. Prudham, a
returned missionary from Japan
was ;:the second speaker, and for
over an hour, held the attention.
