This was the principal issue of the campaign, as Mayor Heid was elected again by acclamation. As Mr, El- liott received the lowest number of votes of those elected, Mr. `Nilson just lacked a few ballots of being one of the councillors for 1914. At a meeting held at Beueetield re- cently there was a large attendance of depositors. Rev. Mr, Gilmour of Rip• ley was present, and explained the • obj=et of the meeting. It was for the purpose, he said, of asking the depos. itors if they were willing to reimburse the shareholders to the amount of their double liability if the Govern. meat of Canada recouped the losses sustained by the depositors in the Farmers Bank, se that the depositors would receive 100 cents on a dollar. Depositors in the Brucefleld branch of the Farmers Bank lost $50 Ot9, and those in the branch at"Dashwood lost 575.000. They are very keenly inter- ested in the latest development.
