W hat came very near being a fatal
accident occurred at Meets street
crossing of the G.T.R. Saturday fore-
noon. Dr. J. 0. Scott was delv-
ing south just as the 10.45 passenger
train was coining in front 'Toronto
and either did not see the train or
misjudged its distance, as.he tried to
cross the tracks in front .of it. The
engine struck tite hind wheel' of r the
}fuggy, throwing; the doctor out. IIe
was somewhat badly cut and bruised
The buggy and harness were some-
what dainageci but the horse escaped'
without a scratch,
