The Late • (Mrs, Counter had been confided to her bed for the past year and a half almost continually, her life being .prolonged only through the un- usual faithfulness and skill of her slaughter, Alma, who has labored and 'lived only for her• ttnothet's comfort. Mts. Counter had been aide last week to be up and at on the verandah for a short time but she 'gradually wore away until she was relieved by death, passing away quietly sand in peace: The deceased was the eldest daughter of the late Peter O'Carr, being born op .May 14th 1832. on the farm now occupied by Mr. S' 1Venus Cul- ver, in Townsend, and known as the "Model Farah". She gnew• up • and received her education •'alt Situcoe and was married to Mr: Counter on January 6th, 1050. Be- fore she was married and forabout 35 years in all she was prominent in the Choir of St. James Meths- dist Church, her husband having been the leader for more ithati 40 years. The late Mrs. Counter is survived by her husband two sons and three daughters •and two sisters. Her sons are Will R. Conn ter, of Clinton, and G. Norman Counter with, his father at Simcoe, The daughters are Misses Alma. Sand Marion at home • acid Mrs, G. F. St. Thomas Journal. -A pleasing affair took place at the Holy An - eels' Church, Tuesday, when Ada E. daughter of J. Kind eee, 33 I4uron street, `was united in marrlrage to John S. Shanahan of Hallett. The Iride was given away by her father and the wedding march was played by 'Mrs, John McManus. Rev. Father West performed the ceremony. The bride was support- ed by Mies Irene Collins of clan- ton, and the groom was sattet:ded by his brother, Joseph, Shanahan, of the Royal Bank, Steitford. CHANT'S FATHER DEAD Mr. H. B. Chant received word at Thursday noon of the death of his father, an old and respected resident of Unionville, Out.
