It tells us the time through our ears as well' as through our eyes, It saves our steps —It signals, spurs us on, rouses us, speaks to us in the dark and from far away. It is useful far beyond the usefulness, of the silent clock. So with a business that advertises. A shop or store that sends out its message to us in the form of advertisements to our newspapers serves us far 'beyond the shop or store that ' is silent—that must be visited before its service or merchandise can be known, The shop or store that advertises saves our time and money,, etc. Speaks to us at the right time, . rouses us to at- tention, and stirs us to action. We buy more as the result of advertising, and we buy from advertisers. To the Merchants of Clinton Put a striker—an attention getter, an arouses; a sitimula'tor—on your busi- ness. Witls the perfection of the mar- velous new apparatus which) has been, put out from the pharmacological laboratory of Johns Hopkins univer- sity under the supervision of Dean William H. Welch, some of the most vexing problems of the day probably will be solved. Kidney ue diseases are Y increasing with alarming rapidity. It is thought -- that the Johns Hopkins artificial kidney in many cases will be successfully used to perform the blood purifying function in which the diseased natural kidney fails. The apparatus consists of 32 tubes contained in a glass case. The tubes, made of a substance called celloidin, are connected at one end with a single tube which may be attached to an artery, and at the other with a tube which leads to a vein. Before the artificial kidney it attached to the body, the tubes are tilled with a solution of salt and water, When it 7Jx'. &%in. IL WGICIZ. 11003 CHARLES. SO BAD COULD NOT SET U . Attacks of cholera morbus are caused mostly by indiscretion' in diet, the use of unripe fruit and new vegetables, and usually occur during the hot summer months. On the first sign of this very weakening trouble Dr. Fowler's Extract of Wild Strawberry should be taken. Mrs. George I,ee, Ruthven, Ont., writes: "I was taken with cholera morbus, and I was so bad I could not sit up any more than five :minutes at a time. My husband said I looked as if I had been sick a month; he got me a bottle of Dr. Fowlers Extract of Wild Strawberry, and I took the whole of it in one day, and itcompletely cured ane. We are never without it in the house For I don't think it eau be beat, When you ask for Dr. Bowler's Extract of Wild Strawberry sec that you get "Dr. Fowler's,” as imitators have gone so far as to imitate our wrapper Both in color and style, and have adopted similar names, such as Strawberry Compound, Wild Strawberry Compound, Extract of Strawberry, etc, "Dr. Fowler's" has been on the market for the past 70 years, and is acknowledged by all who have used it to be a sure cure for all bowel complaints. By changing the composition of this fluid the physician can determine what substances shall pass into it by dialy- sis of the blood. This astounding machine was used with °omelet° success on dogs and other animals. The three physicians who made it, Dr. John J. Abel, Dr. Leonard 'C. Rowntree and Dr. D. B.
