Again the women' of Clinton have
shown the keen interest they

work not merely in words but in
the great amou:tt of work accomp-
lishes. Last 'Friday another large
hnx containing, iField comforts, and
Hospital 'npplies was packed and
sent to the Canadian ;,apply
house in England. The shipment
contained the following; -200 pair
socks, 24 'flannel shirts, 161 towels
261 pillow- slips, 74 sheets, 45 Red
Cross shirts, 10 bandages 19,

wouude, was a member of the Huron
County detachment of 'the first con
tingent, enlisting at Wingham last
Angust. His relatives are in Sussex,
England. Philcox was employed by
a farmer named Brydges, in Morris
Township, and fora short time work
ed at one of the hotels in vVingbam.
He served with the West Kent Regi
ment in England, and hie time as a
reservist expired -before war began,

ed. In her fall.she struck her head on
a pail, making a nasty wound, and
broke one of her arms. She is said to
have lain in a semi conscious condition
