died suddenly. The deceased was
doing the chores around the barn, but
complaning of feeling ill, was advised
to go to the house, on reaching there
he' became so much worse that medical
aid was telephoned for but the lad
expired in a few minutes. Hemorr•
hage of the brain was the cause.
The Saltford pposfoffioe was closed
last Suburday following the inaugura-
tion of the rural mail delivery. Some
of the former patrons of the office are
now going to Goderich for their mail.
At the ,meeting of the Colborne
totanship council Mr. Chas. McNeil

Mr. T. Roy Brydges,, of Muirhead,

married only last year, having died on

Wingham on July I2th. Some of the
best speakers in the Orange order in
Canada will be present.
One of the old landmarks of the
Huron Tract was removed 'last week
when workmen tore down the "Devon
shire Inn" on the old Balkwill farm,.
two miles south of Exeter. This build
ing was erected nearly seventy years
ago and has been the scene of many
stirring times in the early history of
the district. It was here that the first
Agricultural Fair, known as the Step.
