The following' press report to the
Toronto Daily Star, on (Friday, re-
fers to 'a brother-in-law 'of Mr. R.
Marshall' of the cigar store,who
has had a nice windfall. 'Mrs.
Baker and daughter spent the sum
mer here a year or so ago. 'Here
is the press despatch.–Kingston,
Ont. Jan. 22. -Mr. W. James Baker,
proprietor Of the College Inn Cigar
Store, Princess Street, received a
pleasant surprise yesterday wben
he opened a letter addressed, to
himself 'which contained a check
for 328,500. The letter was ••from
1 law firm in Quebec, and stated
th'at,'tlte money had begirt left as a
legacy to Mr. Baker by a rich rela-
tive 'in Quebec city. "It is the
first cent that I have ever had
given 'to me in my life," said Mr.
Baker, after he recovered from his
surprise.
