The Blyth Rural. Telephone System
has purchased. the interceits of the
Bell Company Blyth, It is said
that some of the subseribers 'of the
Rural are taking action to prevent
the purchase being sanctioned by 'the
Railway Commission on the greund
that the 'deal was not in accordance
with the expressed wiehes of a ma-
jority of the subscribers.

is an ex -reeve of Colborne and has

The funeral of George,' Higgiiesien,
whoSti death occurred by drowning in
a Well at Windsor, took place: on
Tuesday afternoon of last week,'
about seventy Members' ef the Oddfel-
lows being In attendance. Mr. Hig-
ginson had been in Windsor clearing
the Me from the river for the Gov-
ernment: It is aupposed that he fell
accidently into the well of the ice
house at Windsor and was 3iot iniseed
for several days, when his brothel: -
and brother-in-law went over from
here and a search was instituted, the
body being found by Mr. Doty and
Mr. Forrest, who ,harl also gone over
from Goderich. The.deceased leaves
his wife, who was Miss Jemima Bak-
er, and one brother, Mr. A. Higgin-
son of town. Mr. Higginson was
thiety-eight years of age and had
been superinte,ndent of Government
works In Goderich since 1911, having
previous to Iltat time been foreman of
the Doty Engine Works.
