OFFICERS OF TBI1 101st
MEET AT CLINTON.
Officers .of the 161st Battalion,
C,E.F., ,1111 came together for the
first time on Good IPridav, when
a conference regarding the com-
ing .mobilization was held. Com-
mittees 10 conn'•ction with the
recruiting of the battalion were
also napped. Incidentally- the an-
nual meeting of the bffirors of the
33rd ,R.egiment was also Meld. This
was easily possible because of the
.fact that most of the officers of
the ,101st were taken from the
33rd, The .office's of the 33rd also
conferred with the ev •arrive of
the Enron County War. Auxiliary.
Plans were laid to enlist the re-
quired 655 men in the shortest
Possible time. Capt, ,Tanstone, ad-
iuta nt of the Battalion,. was napped
special recruiting officer to 1v..),k
in conjunction with the auxiliary
11-4 this regard. There is still some
of the county's 82,000 grant to 0e
expended in recruiting expenses,
but p rlos,e cheek is kept on it,
The officers will not lack for need-
ed fundshowever as the auxil-
iary ,has pledged i6self to ,assist
recruiting in every way.

Clinton. 'Billy'' was formerly thea
alar ,goalkeelp,er of the Ooderieh
hockey teats, and left there to
play with the Clelvelands. He
played there fo:: three years. At
present he is living at Seaforth,
and went up to Goderich for a,
visit. Seeing so many of his old
chums in the 1111st Band be sign-

been the residence of a doctor. It was

fleisb, who went to Berlin when Dr.

years ago. It is most desirably
