Rev. Father Hanlon of London was
in town on 9'aeSthi y for a few
hours while waiting for his train
going, north. Father Hanlon has
many friends in Olin cm, who are
always glad to welcome him to
town,. if only for an hour or so.
Mr, Jacob Taylnr, who had linen
spending a' week or so in town
looking after various husiness in-
terests he has here, returned to
Toronto idle end u' the wweek for
it would' never iso to be absent
from the head of the table at the
Christmas feast.

Mrs. At 13. Carr returned last week
from a visit with her son, Dr. Wil-
ford of Toronto.
Miss Emma Taman left last week
for the west and on Thursday was
married at Winnipeg to Mr. Allen
Kenneth Burwell of Asquith, Sask.

has ,been home visiting her parents.
Mrs. Harry Speare was a visitor
with Ingersoll friends recently.
Mr. Chas. Barhoxr was a Wood-
stock visitor recently,

business last week.
Mrs. Frank Case has gone to Tor-
onto for the winter.
The late Richard VanEgmond, who
died recently at Thessalon, left the
sung of two thousand dollars tothe
cemetery fund at Egmondvilie, where
the remains of many of his family
now lie buried.
Mrs. Routledge of Calgary has been
here the past week or so, being cal-
led to the bedside of lice (sister,
Mrs. McAdam, who has been very
ill.
Mr. 5; Dickson of Fort Saskatche-
wan and Mr. John Dickson of Tor-
onto attended the . funeral of the late
Samuel Dickson last week,
Miss Catharine Grieve of Toronto
has been 'spending the Christmas va-
catian at her home in McKillola.
Miss Jessie Robb; Niagara Falls,
and Miss Nina Robb, Toronto, were
Christmas visitors at their home in
town.
Mrs. George Smithers of Toronto is
spending the -vacation period with
her daughters, Mrs. W. Houghton and
Mrs. John Seal ter.
Mary Clinton, widow of the late
Edward 'Mulcahy, and one of the old-
est and. most highly respected resi-
dents' of Seaforth, died at her home
here on Monday week in her 85th
year. The deceased was born in Ire-
land, but came to Canada, -wheel a
young girl, the family first settling
in Ribbert township, whiet:e she was
married to the late Mr•. Mulcahy,
and where the family was born, The
deceased lady had been ,a resident of
Seaforth forthiai,yeeight ,1 years,
where she was well known and lov-
ed for her kindly ways and neigh-
borly thoughtfulness 'I'he deceased
was a devout and consistent member
and supporter of St. ,James.' Catho-
lic Cihurcfi, She is survived by a
faintly' of throe daughtersand two
Soils.

ond consignment of goods to Hy-
man Hall. London, on Wednesday
last. The Censors were very highly
phased at the vast improvement in
the work of the societies during the
month. Every person seems so will-
ing to do t he work as headc,nart.ers
request, that the censors feel stirs it
won't be long until perfect shipments
can be sent to London, The following
