The ceremony was perfor- med by %v. 11. R. Deihl. A recep- tion was held for the young' couple at the house of the groom's mother, Mrs. A, Reid 01 the Parr Line. 'They have settled down on the farm on the Parr Lille where' the best' wishes of their many ,,friends - wit follow. them. ' This letter was received by Miss) Charlotte'10arsons of Bayfield "Somewhere in' Flanders : Dear IVfadam, i Your note of 261)11 of Nov- ember enclosed in a pair of wristlets ai:rived ori active' service today and I was lartunate enough t o b e the lucky, friend, although unknown to you. I think I voice the sentiment of the boys in wishing all the lady workers of Canada the very best of everything daring the coining :year, While it is our privilege to be able to conte into the active and danger- ous part of this struggle, we feel en- couraged by the knowledge that the woolen are responding so nobly to the work they have been asked to do, and rest assured that your labors are not in vain as the climatic con- dition of the country hero makes woollen goods of any kind necessary, You asked what is most needed well from our experience I would say socks would be the most acceptable and most used article. Other ar- ticles are necessary, but roes are always in demand and perhaps the !hardest to obtain, But I'm glad to say the quantity received privately from friends in Canada keeps up the supply very well. But 1511011 in doubt use pour fingers on socks and they'll find an owner in this country, 'The boys are all well and in good health and spirits and strong in the know- ledge that Clod is on .out side and that liberty and justice shall tri- umph in the enol. In closing I wish to again thank pan for the efforts you are making for oar comfort. I'm with the Div. Cavalry, formerly from London, Ont. 11 you wish to answer this send to nny home address, Sergt, S. H. Stirrett, Petrolea, and my, peo- ple will send it on, Again wishing you and the many workers of Cana - fly 1113• sincere thanks and hest wish- es for a happy 1916 —Yours, George Stirrett."
